Today I decided not to play

https://support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us/articles/203208902-CONCORD

While CONCORD forces do react quickly and with force, they do not have a mandate to protect attacked players and as such will not necessarily be able to prevent eventual losses if attackers can field sufficient firepower to destroy their targets before CONCORD can intervene. CONCORD should therefore be regarded as a force of retribution, not one of protection.

FTFY

Players should do their research and read the related support article instead of assuming and paying the price for their laziness.

If you say so

Meanwhile players are deciding not to play. So either players are lazy and dumb or the devs are. I for one lean towards the devs being lazy and dumb and that’s pretty much what I’m here to discuss. They might not even know it.

Ganking has been part of EVE since 2003. Players loved Burn Jita and Hulkageddon so much they decided to vote to give James 315 the authority to implement a permanent ganking backbone in the form of the New Halaima Code of Conduct and the heroic agents and permit-compliant miners who make up the New Order.

Evidently not even you have quit yet, as you are still posting here. So, miner, please calm down. If getting ganked makes you quit EVE, EVE wasn’t the game for you in the first place. We have players who lose tens of billions in a gank and take it in stride, we have players who lose a 1 million isk venture and rant and rave for hours about how unfair it was, but generally they both keep playing. CCP did a study a number of years ago, and concluded that getting ganked actually improves player retention.

Was that before or right after DT?

meridan night always playing never had a life, always makes excuses……..

Ventures don’t get ganked? Losing 10b to a gank is probably a rage quit moment for most people. But you do you

And let me guess, people are leaving because its an old game? We’ve heard all the excuses

Surely the opposite logic could apply, when you’re able to vault to the top of the killboard in 4 days?

I don’t expect a reasonable discussion on any level with people here. They have made their bed and are determined to defend their own play style. It’s embarrassingly facile to dictate that someone can only have an opinion on what works in a game if they’re actively playing it and refuse to give up.

There are lots of nuances to the discussion, however sadly, there are a group of people who will always consider the best option to be even more extreme. The many hundreds of thousands of capsuleers who have abandoned EVE over the last two decades all have stories to tell. It’s a shame that a handful of people have no interest in a real discussion with them.

Just another Aiko Danuja alt posting a load of crap in an attempt to turn these forums into an echo chamber…

   …

And still posting that old CCP Rise presentation as factual info when 5 years later CCP Helmar presented different facts in his ‘Eve Down Under Beyond The Friendship Machine’ presentation…

Listen to the help articles out there. I can tell you how to be safe in High Sec. The tools are available. High Sec is not dangerous.

HIGHSEC IS A SAFE SPACE!!!

Not really. It requires that there is actually stuff to kill, and competition for it.

Indeed. High Sec is absolute freedom. In Null Sec, you have to stay within your borders and defend against attacks that can come any time. You have to follow rules, fill quotas… it’s like being at work on a military base in a war zone. It really is.

In High Sec, you have absolute freedom to roam the entirety of High Sec, mine when you want, mission when you want, - do anything you want. AND if you train the right skills, fit your ships the right way, and learn the right way to avoid danger, you can do anything you want in absolute SAFETY.

When someone is playing how the game’s been played since it began….its way more likely that it is you in the wrong. Ya know, the very first advert for EVE talks about attacking people’s trade routes. Its not a ‘play style’…it is EVE.

I once again flew my 550m ‘defenceless’, and less EHP than some mining ships, Guardian through Uedama, with a bunch of gankers and 15 Kusion alts all there….all in perfect safety. The secret is knowing when to go for it.

I don’t even put in that much effort. I simply fly through Uedema anytime I want. I’ve never been attacked there.

Have you killed anyone there?
