We already know what it means, the Drifters are coming and we have passed the test the Triglavians have set out for us. They wanted to be sure we are up to the fight ahead and have been preparing for it, while making sure we are capable of being something other than simply in the way.
So how do I fight for the drifters? When Triglavians are involved, the wars should have three sides.
Perhaps they havenāt fallen at all
You fight for the Drifters by letting them pod you, abscond your corpse and thus multiply.
But dont, they kind of suck
Good thing thereās no Drifter standings. I would not want them to remember the hundreds of them I have slain.
@AOSA thereās good reason to think that this is the end of this specific campaign - the trigs are aiming to establish their foothold in the Ancient Domains and reemerge in preparation for difficulties to come. I could see invasion mechanics being used again elsewhere, maybe having the systems of the abandoned Jove regions be fought over between the Trigs and Drifters?
Swept the dirt off the patio. Reopen.
lol, i guess CCP finally let the event run long enough for them to finally get some systems.
Nothing about this was player chosen, the trigs were always going to win 27 system, they just let the event run until they got it. What a hugely disappointing set of 3 quadrants this has been. The trig stuff ended up being a waste of time for the players who participated in it.
The event was going to end at 10/6/20, so no the trigs actually were on a timer.
Waste of time? I doubt thatās how either the Kybernauts or EDI see things.
As someone who has been FCing and participating in this invasion for the past 5 months it has been a blast! By far the most impactful and memorable experience that Iāve had in EVE.
I made a lot of new friends (and enemies), I got to experience content, fittings, and play styles I wouldnāt have touched before, and joined with a great community of players.
Sure the event was grindy, long, and didnāt pay well but thatās not the point. We literally pulled 27 systems out of Empire space, how amazing is that?! In what other game can a small group of players make that substantial of an impact to their environment? Player choice and our willingness to fight for a cause made this event awesome for me and many of my fellow Kybernauts.
Now that the Invasion is winding down Iām not relieved, Iām ecstatic! The future is exciting and mutable, and I canāt wait to see what happens next.
Well, realistically, itās not like CCP would have left their next stage content undone if Edencom had won. Thatās just not how game development works. You donāt make a massive development effort for trigspace and then throw it away because players did not achieve an arbitrary goal. Players could affect where exactly it happens inside a limited set of systems, but not if it happens.
My guess is the ā27 limsā was not an initial win condition; it was something put in last week because players theorized about it and it was close enough when they wanted the story to end. If thereād have been 8 by that time, it would have been 9. Or it could have been āthree of each typeā if that was close, or whatever works for the story at that point.
In events of this size, we are here for the ride; we are not at the steering wheel.
And you know what? Thatās fine. The content had its issues but this is not one of them. Itās how games like this work. If you want a game without a story and an always even field and fixed win conditions and what not, go play soccer a something.
When they abandon this trig crud like the other mountain of āloreāā¦what then?
Thereās no abandoning. Youāre not getting Niarja back, or any of the other liminal systems.
Speak for yourself. These invasions were the biggest waste of time one can possibly imagine. Not only where they annoying and overly frustrating, they also did not reward nearly enough for the endless hours of grinding. Worse still, they did not reward the most important and impactful activity to further progress in either direction at all, and the rewards for sites were so low that they barely covered the cost of ammo. I am still over 10B deep into loss for all the ships and material that I had to acquire for the invasions and that is not even talking about the time that I could have spent doing much more enjoyable things than grinding the ever same site hundreds of a hundred times and more per day.
And donāt get me started on disenfranchising feeling that most Edencom people share about the invasions being skewed to the invaders without CCP ever showing any sign wanting to meaningfully fix the issues. Caldari are still a joke. Gunstars were not spawning outside Amarr space for 90% of the duration of C3. Amarr even got nerfed because they were ātoo strongā for Kybers to endure but Edencom never got the same kind of buff that would have helped even the field in Caldari space. Oh, and Edencom was never allowed to raise sec status of Fortressed low sec systems while Trigs were perfectly able to turn high sec into null sec. Another one of these instances of utter CCP feature planning incompetence.
This invasion crap was garbage from the start till the end. And worse yet, it was garbage you had to participate in because else you would have to endure even more garbage as Niarja shows. The only saving grace: Edencom under Valkanir managed to turn one First Loon system back to Redoubt, which is something Trigs never managed to achieve in their direction. In the grand scheme of things it does not matter but itās the only time I would say I enjoyed this mess thoroughly.
My triglavian is a little rusty, i usually only hear Die sc⦠before if find my self in my capsule but a few lines might be translated differently

I didnāt grind at all and found the entire thing fascinating in the extreme.
In fact its one of the few things that have gotten me to stick around in highsec for any length of time.
Not exactly sure where you get your information but the Caldari NPCs got a 40% EM resistance buff. As well, there was also a nerf to the overall speed of all the INVASION NPCs which means that the Caldari missiles applied better DPS. The Caldari e-war is still crap, so Iāll agree that aspect was unfavored but the Caldari held their ground better against the Trigs than the Trigs do against Amarr.
Amarr make up 11/24 of the regions eligible for invasion. Post-nerf, they are still able to push 3% per hour with no player intervention and claim systems in 12-24 hours. When we fought in the lowsec Liminalities in Amarr space the roaming NPCs were managing to hold us on their own when we were clearing sites as quickly as they spawned.
