Edencom lost mostly because their player org had such toxic and unstable leadership. They experienced constant coups and infighting, they lost control of their in-game channel TWICE and there were/are people at the SR level who are double agents for the pro trig movement. Warchild tried to regain control but by the time they did it was too late. They were then forced to stand down in Ignot because of an agreement between the null blocs. Then they were forced to stand down a second and final time with the 27th system under threat of total elimination.
You can blame bugs, bad tanks and difference in NPCs but the real cause of Edencom Failure in Chapter 3 was and has always been the avalanche of incompetence within the pro-edencom community. The pro-trig community was not much better but managed to eek out some key victories with help from The Imperium. It’s no small irony that the lore for edencom’s leader in-game involves corruption, betrayal and hidden agendas.
It was interesting to see both EDENCOM and Trig communities fails. But I would choose EDENCOM again, it was a good run.
Bunch of a ragtag capsullers fighting against the odds is always more of a show than some boring, mechanical almost bunch of f1 pushers fleet.
You get some individuals who put heart into all of that organizing and running against the disorganization.
I liked that style.
