Dc’d for the first time in a couple days, also when trying to log in here received this error message a few times before i was able to log in with my toon – Server Error in ‘/’ Application.

guess i’m back to catching up on my tv shows. Like really guys I hope u plan on at least reimbursing all us nice paying players omega time while the game was so unstable. Worried to do anything risky like ratting in the wormhole or using any ship i don’t want to potentially loose to a dc during combat like well pretty much everything, abyssal running is out… Triglavian conduits or roaming fleet killing is out… Wormhole ratting is out… sigh… Keep on trying that is appreciated but in reality some cemented plan besides watching ppls complaints here needs to be implemented for the long term and present omega player retention. I have already pulled my re-occurring payments and will go alpha until this is resolved and receive some satisfactory compensation. sorry not trying to be a jerk but reality is i pay for a fully functioning game here. Glad the new DLC for Metro Exodus comes out in a few days…

You clearly underestimate the levels people can carry butthurt to.
I am in no way surprised or shocked by this amount of butthurtery nor do I claim to understand it. I just accept that some people really are this empty inside and then get on with things as best I can.

I would not be suprised if this was some group of farmers that were botting conduits still being at it after the nerf that was introduced.

It does not make sense. Doe it? I don’t think its China or maybe not anyone else at this point. Maybe a DDOS is occuring, but every day someone out there is attacked. Walmart or some other juicy target and they don’t seem to have a problem handling it. Also I have noticed that when I try to log an Alpha account its unable to do so, but when I log a paid account no problem. You tell me at this point.
Earlier had a flawless session, Forum was quiet and then I broke for lunch. On return I launched three ships on an op and was doing OK until I attempted warp, and then the rats showed up, and that’s when I figured out latency was, once again, off the scale. I was able to warp but was under heavy fire. So, no more Eve for the forseable future and to ensure I got the word I was DC’d. Disappointed to say the least, thought we had this thing aced. Would be nice if the next time CCP updated the situation they would be a bit more specific, be a bit more technical and be honest. In other words is EVE doomed and if so what/why/who? And I have no plans to use work arounds to play this game. And yeah, the forums have become, well, interesting.
they come from everywhere, hence the first D in Distributed Denial of Service. More often than not they’ll be simple scripted botnets on an IRC network, which means there can be thousands, if not millions, of computers involved. Often the guy at the keyboard isn’t even aware he’s part of a botnet.
This isn’t CCP’s fault nor is it their responsibility to fix, it can only be somewhat mitigated by a third party passthrough that rejects invalid packets. It is for law enforcement to pull the problem by its root. Figuring out who originated the botnet/DDOS isn’t Hollywood easy, there is no signature code. There’s payload and that’s it.
Short version: CCP are doing their best to mitigate the damage, they and we have to grin and bear it until those responsible for the attacks get bored and move on or do something really stupid and turn themselves in.
