I’m also in the SE US. Perhaps they’ve determined that the bulk of the DDos attack originated from this region. It doesn’t help me at all but …
US Central TZ connected on all 5 accounts after a couple of attempts.
Chat is still fubar
Edit: as soon as I said this 2/5 offline and lag is crazy. So nvm.
I’m location in Ontario Canada (Eastern time zone) logging in is hit or miss, when able to log on, same thing as everyone else lagging and then dropped socket. So it can be Eastern North America not just the USA.
wonder if any Brazilian player are having the same issues. (same time zone for the most part)
I was having a similar issue as yourself and we are from the same region try using a VPN and connect to London UK that helped solve my issues. I hope this will help you as well!
GO CANADA!
Continuing the discussion from Tranquility Connectivity Issues Megathread:
For some network resons, pilots in China cannot login. The reason that the game gave is ‘NO NETWORK’.I thought the DDOS PROTECTION put us in DDOS USERS.
My IP is 171.233.*.* .
That is so disappointing.
-_-
Midwest US (Michigan Area), I was able to log in on a second attempt through the window. Got Dc’ed twice, now I cant log in at all.
Suggetting Giving a setting that can control proxy.
USTZ EAST (Ontario, Canada). Was able to log in one account for about 15 min. DC’d and haven’t been able to connect since. Gonna go play something else.
Definitely weird. After being frozen out a few days ago I was reliably getting in from eastern US without problem, then problems got progressively worse and I started getting dumped and now cannot log back in. It seems like whoever is leading this DDS attack may be adapting to CCP’s attempts to fix these issues. Now I am just to move my ship to a safe space.
At what point do we have to start thinking that it’s never going to be fixed?
Cannot start the client now in KCMO (Central USA) Only way I’ve been able to get in is to use protonvpn connected through the New Zealand. Hopefully they have this fixed before my free week of advanced runs out.
ETA: Chat was working previously but now it’s not on the VPN.
I just have to know, are there any DDoS mitigation in place? Cloudflare, null routing, etc? I know a lot of this stuff will probably not be known until it’s over but it seems there should be something between the internet and production services to help reduce this kind of impact.
All publicly available services face this and there is little protection against huge attacks, which we could be seeing now. I would just like to know if CCP actually protects against this sort of thing proactively.
I don’t participate in the forums much so I’m just asking here, I’m not criticizing but do want to know thatt some proactive steps are taken.
I’m also unable to login. This is very concerning as I’m paying for this subscription to play. I love your game but if these types of issues continue to go unresolved. I will need to reconsider my ongoing status of subscription and hope you will consider reimbursement soon for those of us that pay for this service in months in advance expecting it to be available. I’ve barely touched the game in weeks! I’m paying for this access.
All still broken here. Wouldn’t connect, wouldn’t connect, wouldn’t connect. Finally connected - chat not working - DC. Boom hat trick … hell of a show.
Maybe explain a bit about “why” this particular DDoS is kicking your ass :o)
Good read for the layman on DDoS, the different attack vectors, and why they can be such a b!tch to mitigate: https://www.cloudflare.com/learning/ddos/what-is-a-ddos-attack/
Finally a thread to report to. Ever since Jan 30/31 the problems began for me. The 4 omega accounts I have could not log in, but the alpha account did (for a bit). Then I tried login in the omegas… and it worked for a bit. Then on one omega, the chat went into CAPS and was unable to use a darn thing, on the others, they could play for awhile, untill they finally lost connection too. At times, Im able to login, warp a few times, collect some PI, and then… it stops working, except chat, chat works, dscan doesnt, warp doesnt… and after some minutes, connection lost. I was happy to see the forum thread accouncement on eve-status, but decided first to try to login… and at first it said that it can’t reach the server at port 26000, and after clicking connect… its back to the Settings/Connect window and all I see is ‘checking status’.
I understand that a DDNS attack is out of your hands, but this threaded should have been here since when these problems have started to show up. (Ah yes, CARIBBEAN area).
I’m trying to be patient but this is getting old. What’s worse is if I cannot log into the game, I cannot log into the forums or put in a ticket.
After 18 hours I was finally able to get online earlier, lasted for 5 minutes. After a couple hours I was able to get on again for about 15 seconds.
I’m in Eastern USA, in North Carolina.
Still can’t even log in… For days
The 4th day…
Chat issues still… complete lack thereof. At least I can get into the game…
US EST TZ - Day 7 unable to connect. I am able to connect for a brief moment only to be disconnected within 1-2min.
I have tried different networks, etc. The only thing I haven’t tried is a VPN (I’m just not there yet… more $$).
Hope you guys can get this stuff resolved - keep at it. Trying to stay positive, but with withdrawals kicking in… who knows how I’ll keep up.
