Trig ships any good in the abyss?

Anyone know if or if they have used trig ships in the abyss at all, and how well did they work? And if they worked good, what fits did you use on them?

Dual Draugurs can work quite well. A Nergal in a Triple-Frigs combo is also nice (2Retri/1Nergal or 1Retri/2Nergal work fine).

The cruisers are not really good, since there are only a few pockets where the ships have a single beefy target where they would profit from the spoolup mechanic of the weapon system. Mostly there is lots and lots of small stuff to shoot and thats not really what Triglavian Ships are made for. In the higher tiers, you almost certainly run into time issues, even in godlike blinged Ikitursas. T5 are doable still with lots of overheating and top-notch fitting. But it can be done much cheaper and faster in other ships.

There are some funfits around tho, like Dark-Ikitursas with a Large Smartbomb. Have tested that when Sisi was still up and running, works surprisingly well in T5 Darks.

So just out of curiosity, do you have any fits for other ships other than Trig or Gila that do well?

You can search what fits and success rates other people have used in Abyssals here:

@Bubba123 the Abysstracker link is a good start, just stick to the fits that actually have lots of successful runs, ideally a video & description how to fly. There are still lots of crapfits listed there that don’t really work well, especially those marked as “untested” or without at least some dozen successful finishes.

I also suggest to really begin low and work your way up. I have seen many many people burn billions of ISK in the Abyss and then quit frustrated because they thought you just need an expensive fit an jump into T5/T6. Don’t do that! You will die! Begin in a moderatly expensive Cruiser/HAC (lets say 500-700M) without the need of an Implantset and begin to grind T3. Yes, thats not a lot of money but you learn the spawn compositions which wll becomre extremely important later. If you feel a 100% confident in T3 with your ship, try T4 with a moderate support-clone (3% damage/cap/application implants for example) and some synth-boosters running. If that also works you can try and bling out and jump into T5. Use T6 only with lots of experience in T5 and a system where you won’t get suspect timer on exit. Be aware: Gankers know these systems as well and they will blow you up in your multibillion ISK ship if you run there carelessly.

Abyssalrunning can be an exciting content that really gives some adrenaline moments, but also can be deadly. You have been warned! Have fun!
