You have no idea what I am doing in game or where I have been doing etc but continue to presume you are good at that :).
You’re right, I have only your words. And your words say “if CCP takes away the menial farming we will all ragequit”.
For me this game is not that important compared to 2004-2014, then I had time to spare but as life goes along priorities changes. You young ones hopefully see opportunities in the new changes.
Been using 2 days now for moving logistics, ships etc. But I realize that in the long run that this is hopeless (and very boring).
I do not think all will rage quit but I do believe that active gamer numbers will have serious ups and downs. But it is hard to say since CCP is wisely keeping their cards close atm and time will show if this last expansion is playable for gamers like me that try to utilize the game time and have fun.
People logging in has already taken a hit.
Typical Eve player cycle…influx of players followed by lower highs back to what it was.
In before back to school or any other excuse…Eve has an issue retaining players and every fix revolves around how do we force people into the Null block game play. And we always end up in the same place.
From the start I have wanted them to be a new faction/ empire that we can play as. I still hope they settle in with a new trade hub and their own security for those regions they control.
CCP just might have plans for Jita to be the last system invaded and flipped. Maybe that’s why the station is being rebuilt.
And why shouldn’t they? Nullsec is way more likely to retain people than the dead-end grind of menial highsec farming. The best thing for player retention is to get people out of the tutorial zone and into more interesting content.
The above reply is wrong. The reason CCP keeps trying to force players into Null Sec is because that’s where big Fleet Battles happen which will gain them free advertisement on game review sites.
It’s almost like people find “huge fleet battles for control of player-owned space” to be more appealing than “menial farming task you can do in the background while watching Netflix”.
More like CCP is now pushing hard for that content because the current Null Sec battles don’t garner any more free advertisement from game review boards.
Which, again, demonstrates that far more people care about massive nullsec fleet battles than menial highsec farming. If people cared about farming then the game media would publish articles about it.
Sounds like perfect material for the EVE version of The Onion.
Something like this, but…
“Massive EVE Online Fleet Mining Operation Results in Destruction of $63 Worth of Asteroids”
