Have you tried planetary interaction yet?
Look on the market at modules that go into building Faction War ships, then build those modules from the dust up.

There seems to be a notion that real pvp is only in high (viable hunting grounds) or null (full range of combat mechanics), but I advocate for lowsec. Yes there are people who run 500m setups with 6b pods… on faction frigates… but there are so many people looking to give a gf. I took a solo fight against a Vexor NI yesterday in my Stabber w/ alpha clone skills. Unfortunately an Exeq Navy came in and denied us both solo marks (I think I would have died… but it at least would have been fair). People take fights with less than 50% expected win all the time, and it leads to some truly amazing kills and unforgettable fights. It also makes you a lot of friends. I have so many blue “plusses” and orange “minuses” denoting friendly Minmatars and honorable/nice Amarrs (respectively).
Trash talking is not really a thing, except for a few people. And they usually get punished by pirates and laughed at in militia.
The issue with both null-sec and low-sec is that established local groups will use any opportunity to escalate with capital drops (unless they fear an even bigger counter-drop). Unless your side is getting completely routed and isn’t expected to score even a single meaningful kill, the capitals absolutely will come out, and the last thing you’ll see before waking up in the station is a bunch of FAXes repairing the target your group managed to get into mid-armor. It was like this in the past, and it’s also been like this recently. I got into two small low-sec engagements over the past few years (one a few years ago and one last year in RIOT), and both times capitals were brought out even though we were already outnumbered and losing.
Both null-sec and low-sec are grabage-tier PvP ecosystems, and that’s why I stay away. Maybe you don’t notice this as much being in FW, but then again FW is somewhat of an “artificial” PvP environment where conflicts don’t develop organically. High-sec, wormholes, and (I’m assuming) Poochie lead to much more dynamic engagements.
I would have thought that being quite so mercenary is disadvantageous in the long run. Aren’t you going to come across the situation where the group you are offering to help this time was a group you were fighting against the previous time ? Or are people so desperate for help that they ‘forget’ past transgressions.
It’s happened before. It’s more like “don’t take it personally, I’m just looking for more targets.” Since I don’t talk ■■■■ to people (unless they start), most of the time it doesn’t really turn sour anyway. Actually, the biggest barrier to ally spam is that most of the people I contact don’t even understand the ally system. Like, especially the Chinese for example. More often than not, they either don’t have a clue what I’m talking about (sometimes they don’t even know and/or understand that they’re at war), or think that I’m trying to join their alliance, or are simply too busy with farming that they don’t bother to accept the ally offer even after I get them to toggle the ally switch.
Sure you do. You’ve expressed it a bunch of times in this thread, whenever you’ve conveyed the sentiment that you don’t feel that dropping a hundred smartbombing titans on your single ship is worthwhile pvp. Because that’s all ‘real PvP’ means.
For example:
That’s definitely conveying a sense of what you feel ‘real PvP’ is.
I don’t think you meant there would be capital drops in high-sec there.
