Unused skillpoints from offgrid booster alt

I have a character who used to be used for offgrid boosting (has 7.6m skillpoints in fleet support). I use the character for exploration, trade, freighters, production, logistics and indy. Has about 68m SP total including Fleet Support.

Now my question is this, since all this SP is wasted since offgrid boosting was removed from the game what shall I do with this SP?

Perhaps extract it and inject it into something else on this character or on another character (76m SP)?
Train up some gun / missile skills and destroyers and start using the character as ongrid booster?
Extract and sell the SP?
Or just keep it and see where the game takes me next?

Do you guys had similar experience with offgrid booster alts or perhaps other skills that rendered useless with EVE updates?

I guess what I’m asking here is perhaps some new ideas what I can do here.

Boost is always good

Injecting Skill Points:

The Skill Injector in your Item Hangar is now be available for use. You can sell it on the in-game market, trade or give it to other players. Alternatively it can be simply activated it on the same character to move skillpoints into other skills, although the character will not receive all extracted skillpoints back in that case, the amount received when using the skill injector differs between characters and is based on their overall skill points:

  • 0 to 5 million Skill Points at time of use = 500.000 unallocated Skill Points
  • 5-50 million Skill Points at time of use = 400.000 unallocated Skill Points
  • 50-80 million Skill Points at time of use = 300.000 unallocated Skill Points
  • 80 million or more Skill Points at time of use = 150.000 unallocated Skill Points

Yeah that exactly why I’m asking, if there was no SP loss for injecting into my character, than the answer for me would be clear I guess :slight_smile:

Maybe I could extend my PI operation by spinning up new chars and injecting into those without SP loss? I just don’t know

if you no longer need boost, sure. You can also try it out on Sisi first, there should be a fresh copy of the real data.

that’s a good idea, if you have spare toon slots - use 'em :slight_smile:

I extracted the excess ship skills (CS V, BCs V etc.) and turned it into a mining character/backup scanner/whatever booster just because. That character sadly was sharing the account with a combat toon already, had it been on its own account, I’d have trained command destroyers no questions asked. MJD, links, crappy interceptor in one.

So when mining and boosting friends, I can rest patiently that maybe, just maybe, I might take a sabre down with me because of those 18km webs, or fly a porpoise as a pseudo command ship/bait through a frig hole and carry cap boosters for the gang.
