Update on Asset Safety values for Supers & Titans

Infinite mass but very limited jump mass. We wouldn’t want to make capital movement out of these systems easier, would we? :innocent:

Why not? It would be exciting to have elite WH pvpers attack us with capitals. Sure they would crush us with their superiority and elitness but it would be fun until the moment we end up hiding in NPC stations like some low sec elite pvper.

Goal is to improve 0.0 pilots to the levels of these superior elitepvers after all.

Never going to happen.

Null live from the exploitation of low skill low iq players

They weren’t present in basically every system and all Assets within POSes (that mined moons or harboured supers) were free to siege, bubble in and grab. You had to use a sitter char if you wanted to keep a Super or Capital safe.
Everything that was left on the outpost was “trapped” there until you could firesale it (removing war-assets from your access) or bring an alt into the winner’s group that you could contract it to and then step-by step trying to evacuate it out of a hot-zone.
The Fall of an Outpost always made sure the opponents were at least for the duration of the current war surely cut-off from the assets stored there.

In it’s current form AS is absolutely game-breaking. And if they cannot or want not remove it completely since we don’t have conquerable outposts any more, they should at least fix it:

  • make it available only on Keepstars
  • make it a service that is very expensive in fuel and has an own onlining timer of 7 days. So keep it running, you won’t be able to just use it on demand once the Keepstar comes under attack.
  • stuff locked in there will not be teleported out of the system, it can only redeemed in the same system into another Upwell Structure. So reconquer the system or bring a Char into the opponents group once they have taken the system and own stations there
  • stuff does not automatically move into Asset Safety on Station Destruction, you have to move it manually into the AS-hangars and then it stays locked there and cannot be used or taken out again for 14 days

Excellent idea.

We should also add that any time you jump into a WH all assets belonging to any character of that player in any NPC station go poof. We don’t want to make EVE too safe after all.

That already isn’t a problem you genius. Bring a handful of CovOps Scanners into the “Top C5 or C6 system” you want to invade and then just wait until the owner is offline. Scan the chain, bring in forces to keep the access open. You do realize that like 95% of all C5 and C6 systems are neither watched nor have “controlled access” 24/7 do you? They are usually completely open for more than 16 hours each day.
How complex is it for you braniacs to send some scanning alts in there to prepare an assault? You don’t need “game made guaranteed blob highways” to do that. But probably thats the only way you know how to play the game, stomp everyone with a legion of F1 drones and drown him in mediocrity…

 You realize that same option is available for you as well? If you wouldn’t roll away all incoming WHs to your precious nullsec grinding paradise (ohh sorry, “Alliance Policy!!!111”), you’d have access to NPC stations within - on average - 4-5 Jumps. Multiple times a week.

you are spelling “wormholes” wrong

Hey Elise,

Before the tin foil nutters get too much more annoying, would be great to get some more detail on when the issue with valuations started, and exactly which hulls were affected and by how much.

Ta muchly!

But we don’t want to hide stuff in NPC stations. That is perfect safety. This is EVE. Risk vs. reward. You were just telling us how hardcore and badass WHs are and now it turns out that all that elitness and ultra mega high IQ is all about hiding your stuff in NPC stations.

0.0 is not risky enough but perfect safety of NPC stations is fine. Interesting, one could almost think that you are full of something brown.

How much refund did you get ?

The refund measures from CCP have not been carried out yet.
Since the official announcement stated that refunds will be issued, I will wait patiently until it is implemented.

My main char. 90% of all asset value is in our home WH. Some ships for K-Space roams, Modules and Ammo in Jita.

HS is fine as a fallback-area to start fresh over in case you got beaten down. But nobody deserves the luxury of having magic asset invulnerability right in his home area.

Maybe they valued them on their build price, rather than sale price?

A few more explanations would be helpful in understanding this decision:

Why this retroactive application and why this particular date?

How do the 10 billion and 3 billion relate to the 15% value for titan and super hulls?

On a broader level, and considering the arguments in this thread:

Is asset safety intended as a strategic (retreat)-mechanism, and is the risk/reward ratio as balanced as it should be?

Is destruction better than removing ISK from the game – or are both consider bad?

I suspect that all of this has already been discussed at length in various threads, so links would be helpful.

Look. We all play this game to have fun. If you are so concerned about balance, why not bring assets safety to wormholes. Along with sov and all the upgrades, skyhooks, metanoxes that are so great?
How do you feel about that?

I’m good with it. Asset Safety is in high, low, and null. It’s only fair

Absolutely, and it has been fun for the first decade of EVE to actually wage wars for loot and domination, winning important battles by mobilizing all you can to either cut-off or keep access to huge asset stockpiles. It created tactical depth in alliance combat, it motivated people to fight and rewarded those who won.

You can absolutely clearly see in the current political map compared to a political map 15 years ago that the Upwell Citadel design has changed everythign towards huge blue blocks and barely gigantic wars are fought any more because people simply can retreat all valuable assets from spots that are in danger. The attackers cannot hope to loot large parts of the supplies stationed there nor can they hope to cut you off in an ongoing conflict from a reasonable amount of capitals or supers by winning over a system. You simply can magic-retreat as often as you want and finally directly into Lowsec without any evacuation effort.

And thats just crappy game design. You can feel the consequences every day in every corner.

Like 99% of the whole WH community is strictly against it. Implementing AS (as part of the whole Citadel Design) was a grave mistake right from the start and for certain we don’t want this stupid stuff in WHs. We can talk about “investments” into systems if you can keep them long enough that this is worthwile, like upgrades or skyhooks or valuable moons to justify metenox drills - that all might drive content, enables outsiders to create timers that the owners have to defend and so on.

But no Asset Safety. What you bring to the party is on the table. All the time. Defend it or bring it to safety if under threat. That is how should work everywhere outside Empire Space. That is why the rewards of those Null Sec Areas (I include WHs here) are so high if you can exploit them. A 85% magic ensurance of assets is simply neither good nor nessessary to survive. It does hurt the game we love. Thats why I fight against it and will keep fighting it until it gets fixed or removed.

15 years ago there were stations with no assets safety because they were indestructable. But You already know that and just repeat the same argument. Update on Asset Safety values for Supers & Titans - #137 by Dyver_Phycad

Like 99% of the whole WH community is strictly against it.

Glad you made some statistics, asked around and the number is not “source:me”.
So it’s not about balance, you are not involved in null-space, nor interested in it, yet you want to impose your way of playing unto null-space, completely disregarding what people living in null want. Why is that?
I can answer for You. Syzygium | Character | zKillboard
You will benefit from it. Your main activity is destroying citadels of small corps that are unable to defend.

His argument was only partially true and debunked it in the same topic we are discussing already.

 You really should learn to read a killboard dude. I am on 13 Citadel, 3 Engineerings and 8 Refinery killmails since they exist. Half of them probably some kind of public fleets or from finding an already abanonded one in an empty hole.

We barely attack stations at all, despite having groups smaller than us as neighbors every day. So if we wanted to, we could probably raze a Citadel each day just from burning down our static and leaving a scout in there for the timer. If a station owner gets attacked by us, the station either was abandoned, it was a random thrird-party bust over an already existing timer or the owner has pissed us our a friend of us on by coming into our home knocking on a station first.
We even have straight official alliance policy that we neither reinforce nor kill stations of smaller groups that a) are active and b) just trying to live there without being aggressive towards us first.

But yeah, keep spreading your personal attacks. We two won’t come to an agreement anyway, so have a nice day and enjoy your magic protection teleporter for the superrich as long as it lasts. Hopefully not forever.

They did a lot more than that lol.
