An hour for a mack? My skiff was tank fit with no upgrades and it didn’t take that long.
I have the same wife summoning issue. I also have the clingiest cat on the planet. Even the independent cat sometimes gets bored and insists I play with him.
Countless times, I’ve undocked, set up my Orca and Hulk, got called away by cat or wife, docked both ships, cane back, set everything up, and redocked again.
Plus I work. I have things I need to do. A wife to spend time with, etc…
You’re nothing special.
But none of that has anything to do with the fact that you can’t mine afk. Your rock disintegrates, your hold fills up, and your lasers turn off.
I don’t care if a god appears out of nowhere and whisks you away to another galaxy to help out with something- ships don’t mine afk.
Well yeah, but as you noted earlier, I may have down time while I am afk before I target new rocks. But its ok, as I am earning that important resistance buff I talked about earlier.
(edited to add)
I think at this point I am just going to shrug @Glenduil. If what I do doesn’t count as “afk mining” to you, that’s fine. You are the first person I have ever met that wants to impose the linguistical requirement that its only real afk mining if one uses a bot to target a new rock.
Sociological impact more than economical but one should also be aware that those with so much isk in one place likey buy plex AND pay for their accounts; thats bad business to lose.
You should probably also be aware that the impact on hauling from groups like push x and red frog would be detrimental for a multitude of players.
Clearly the impact of this rising would be detrimental to the game for a multitude of reasons, we are not simply talking about a few peoples style of gameplay vs others we are talking about the state in general over the whole cluster; one would probably have to have a far better understanding of economics and so on to understand that.
Of course one could also just be aware of how fansy the bard effected the game they played and how that all worked out; its nice to not have rules even comical at times but the effect of wholesale anarchy is incredibly damaging to the community as a whole.
2007 this is not.
In essence its nice to think that only your opinion matters; but that simply is not the case, the bigger picture matters most of all.
Im not opposed to ganking, even done it myself; but as time goes on it has become far easier to make say ten alts and recycle because of security status than it is to actually play within the game - that imo is the issue.
I’d also hasten to add that jita is Caldari space, the Caldari are very much business orientated and strangling spacelanes is very much bad for business.
Thats some dogwater armchair psychology right there. The most toxic people in eve are the people being ganked. they come, they want, they dont bother learning, they get killed, they become the most rabid sacks on the internet, they leave. Who cares? More will come after, since most of these “new players” are alts of people that have played or are still playing, and pretending to be new. This is not a new thing, it’s been a thing since like, week 3 of the internet existing.
What you need to spend your energy on is learning the mechanics and making friends so your stupid freighter full of everything you own doesnt get ganked. This is a social game, this is not a dr phil episode. Go make friends. Get stabbed in the back, like so very many of us have had happen to us, yet we still play.
You’re right, this isnt 2007. Eve is also not fortnite. this is a pull your britches up and get to work game. Get with it or dont, but dont pretend you have PhD’s in telepathy to know what everyone is thinking and feeling.
Your justification for that comment is a load of rather obtuse waffle and armchair psychology. And one minute you are saying ‘probably’…..then somehow within one sentence it has become ‘clearly’, which then later on becomes ‘of course’. I see what you did there !
If you want to reduce ganking or piracy in high sec, my personal approach would not be to make it more punishing, but enable that playstyle again in other areas of space.
As an example ccp could ban cynos from low sec, which would make logistics for 0.0 alliances a lot more dangerous by forcing freighters to actually pilot through low sec instead of just skipping over it.
That would finally make low sec a lot more interesting again for people who are interested in a piracy oriented playstyle. The way it used to be before capital ship proliferation and JFs that made low sec a lot less interesting for actual pirates to live in. Suicide ganking in high sec sadly is the only viable form of piracy these days, if your goal is to actually live from the goods you steal from others.
So instead of completly alienating ppl by removing their playstyle or making it less viable once again, give them alternatives.
Reducing ganking in highsec is down to the players themselves, not down to CCP or playstyles or whatever.
Not being ganked starts with personal responsibility. If people insist on flying 17bn worth of stuff in a crap fit ship…what do they expect ? They go running to CCP demanding the game be made ‘fair’….yet the game is already fair enough to have given them every opportunity to fit their ship properly and to make themselves less of a target by not hauling their entire inventory in one haul.
CCP should not be altering the game for people who are lazy or greedy or both. If a person is ganked, its a lesson in fittings, behaviour, alertness, and a whole bunch of things a person ought to be learning in the game.
