Vastly more productive High-Sec Ganking thread

Well that’s odd…as I was responding to your own self-confessed admission that you lost ‘everything’ in a crap fit hauler with expanded cargo holds. What part of ‘ your loss was your own fault’ was the result of not listening ?

Meh. I’ve moved over 7bn worth of stuff back from Absolute Order’s HQ in Dihra to Jita area……over 40 jumps, through Uedama. That included a totally unarmed 600m |ISK worth of Guardian fitted for repping, and several ships worth over 1bn, and several billion in parts and mods. I did not move it all in one poorly fitted hauler. In fact I flew each ship individually.

How boring it would have been if there’d been no risk !

sigh

I guess ill just have to throw in the towel and just admit that IVE been doing it wrong all these years. I mean what fool would properly fit their ships after running into so many bad people and learning vital lessons about those experiences. I really dont know what i was thinking.

In addition, all those toxic people on these forums.

shaking in fear*

I mean it comes a time when you keep hearing the same supposed improvements over and over and over again. I mean really, how dare we bittervets treat new players that way when they want mechanics removed from the game. I feel awful now.

Ends sarcastic rant

Ive offended myself now….and im giving a flower to myself. :rose:

“The issue isn’t that high‑sec should have null‑sec rewards.
The issue is that high‑sec used to have a functional ore ecosystem — and now it doesn’t.
Entire ore types were removed from high‑sec, including every source of Nocxium, Zydrine and Megacyte.
A solo high‑sec industrial player can now mine only 1 of the 4 minerals required for basic industry.
That’s not a ‘risk vs reward’ discussion — that’s a missing gameplay loop.”

“And if the intended design is that high‑sec industry players must buy 75% of their minerals,
then CCP should say that openly instead of promising that high‑sec resource availability would improve.”

“If high‑sec isn’t meant to support industry at all, then it’s fair to ask why high‑sec players are expected to pay the same subscription price as everyone else for a fraction of the gameplay options.”

Have you tried leaving Highsec?

yes i did, but it did not work for me .i am a solo guy…and love mining .. no friends …. and was kicked from space , and had to run to high with hundreds of angry birds behind me .

Abyss doesn’t have 3 of the 7 minerals, is it missing game play loops?
Low sec is missing 3 of the 7 minerals, is it missing game play loops?
Null does have access to all, but it is limited, but they mostly have 4 of the 7 minerals, plus the only source of the bonus 8th mineral for T2.
Wormholes are missing 2 of the 7 minerals, is it missing game play loops?

They have openly said this, in that ALL players must import minerals from some other area of space. As a High Sec miner, I know that my biggest customer are traders from null. If all of us stopped mining, prices would explode. It won’t happen though as there are too many people who just afk mine while at work or in class or doing chores at home (and deserve to be ganked when they do).

Blame the afk miners for the prices…High sec ores are very much needed in other areas of space.

The point isn’t that every area should have every mineral.
The point is that high‑sec used to have a complete industry loop for solo players — and now it doesn’t.
Removing all sources of Nocxium, Zydrine and Megacyte from high‑sec didn’t ‘rebalance’ anything, it just removed the ability for high‑sec industry to function without importing 75% of its materials.”

“Abyss, low‑sec and wormholes were never intended to support full industry chains.
High‑sec was.
That’s why the comparison doesn’t hold.”

“And telling solo players to ‘just leave high‑sec’ isn’t a solution.
If the only answer to missing gameplay loops is ‘go somewhere you don’t want to live’, then that’s a design problem — not a player problem.

The same is said for every other area of space, high sec doesn’t get some special treatment.

We have more ores in high sec now that we had prior to scarcity. Isogen has returned, Zydrine and Megacyte are easily attainable as well. Prior to scarcity, Noxcium, Zydrine, and Megacyte were not able to be found in high sec ores.

No one is saying to leave high sec to do high sec industry, you sell excess high sec ores to get the other minerals you need, right in the trade hubs.

The issue isn’t that every region should have every mineral.
The issue is that high‑sec used to support a full solo industry loop — and now it doesn’t.
Before the redistribution, a high‑sec player could mine everything needed for basic T1 production.
Today, high‑sec miners can only mine 1 of the 4 required minerals.”

“Saying ‘other regions also miss minerals’ doesn’t address that difference.
Abyss, wormholes and low‑sec were never intended to support full industry chains.
High‑sec was — that’s why the comparison doesn’t hold.”

“And yes, importing minerals is possible.
But importing 75% of your materials is not a ‘loop’, it’s a dependency.
If that’s the intended design, CCP should state clearly that high‑sec industry is no longer meant to be self‑contained.”

“Selling ore to buy the minerals you can’t mine isn’t industry — it’s trading.
If the only viable path for a high‑sec industrialist is to become a trader, then a core gameplay loop has been removed.

It never did.

Again, it never did.

They can mine 6 of 7 now.

It never did.

It’s not 75%, it’s 1/7 or 14% that needs to be imported.

Industrialist have to buy minerals and sell their product, even high sec ones…unless you mean miners, who are miners or suppliers. (some do both, but these are separate types of gameplay) Everyone in the game has to interact with the market in some way or another.

High‑sec never had access to Megacyte or Zydrine, that part is true.
But high‑sec did support a complete T1 industry loop because the mineral requirements were different.
You could mine everything needed for basic T1 production without importing the majority of your materials.”

Today, the mineral distribution and the ore composition have changed.
High‑sec miners can mine Tritanium, Pyerite, Mexallon and Isogen — but every source of Nocxium, Zydrine and Megacyte is gone.
That means a solo high‑sec industrialist must import all mid‑tier minerals, which breaks the self‑contained loop that used to exist.

Saying ‘you can mine 6 of 7 minerals’ ignores the fact that industry doesn’t use minerals equally.
If 1 missing mineral is required in every blueprint, then the loop is broken — even if you have 6 others.

Selling ore to buy what you can’t mine isn’t industry, it’s trading.
If the intended design is that high‑sec industry is now dependent on trading instead of mining, that’s fine — but then CCP should say so clearly instead of calling it an improvement.

Now they do. Ducinium and Eifyrium provide these.

They removed the higher end minerals when they changed, they didn’t add it.

Only Nocxium is missing.

Yes, and noxcium is not used as much, the VAST majority of the amounts/volume are in Pyrite and Tritanium.

I guess PVE is a broken loop then, or PVP, or any other ‘loop’ by your logic since they have to buy things (ammo, ships, etc). Even then, industrialist need to sell their product.

Players and CCP separate miners and industrialists, you seem to be combining them. Miners produce minerals, Industrialists take those minerals and makes something else, and then sells it (or provides it to their alliance). This is an MMO, you have to interact with players.

Again, CCP have said that the intent is to trade minerals across the different areas of space. How many times does this need to be said?

Ducinium and Eifyrium are moon materials, not minerals.
They don’t replace Megacyte or Zydrine in any T1 industry chain, so they’re not relevant to the discussion.”

“High‑sec miners can mine Tritanium, Pyerite, Mexallon and Isogen — but they cannot mine Nocxium, Zydrine or Megacyte from any high‑sec ore.
That’s 3 out of 7 core minerals missing, not 1.”

“Industry doesn’t care how many minerals exist — it cares which minerals are required.
If a blueprint needs Nocxium and you cannot mine Nocxium at all in high‑sec, then the loop is broken regardless of volume ratios.”

“Selling ore to buy missing minerals is trading, not industry.
If the intended design is that high‑sec industry is now dependent on trading instead of mining, that’s fine — If this is the new reality for high‑sec, then CCP should state it plainly so players can adjust their expectations**.**

Wut? Ducinium is pure Megacyte, Eifyrium is pure Zydrine. You really need to lay off where ever you are getting your information at play the game.

Again, they did, when they changed the ore distribution.

Do you even play this game?

High‑sec moon mining exists, but moon goo is not ore and it does not replace the missing minerals in the basic ore‑to‑mineral industry loop. Moon mining requires structures, fuel and a corporation — it’s not a solo‑friendly replacement for the ore types that were removed.

Neither of those are moon goo.

Hey, stop believing what AI is telling you. Ducinium and Eifyrium are normal asteroids that give Zydrine and Megacyte. Moon ores in high sec are Bitumens, Coesite, Sylvites, and Zeolites.

I think they might actually be a bot themselves actually. What is your favorite type of pizza?

I’m talking about the basic ore‑to‑mineral loop.
Ducinium and Eifyrium are moon ores, not belt ores — they require a refinery, fuel and a corporation to access.
Solo high‑sec miners cannot mine them, so they don’t replace the missing minerals in the regular high‑sec ore ecosystem.

If you want to discuss the topic, I’m happy to continue.
If you want to talk about pizza, that’s fine too — but it doesn’t change the facts about ore distribution. > for me a new-york pizza with unnions and cheese please.
