After fondling all graphic settings in windows and in game for a extended period of time, I figured out excessive text contrast is produced with the darker “faction” window appearance presets in settings. It never dawned on me the Preset change there would finally have the desired effect I was looking for, which was simply not to select one of the nice dark ones because you can quickly see the contrast difference from the rest… (I think this is possibly where many of the past complaints are from including my own) Literally switching from dark to caldari fixed it while none of the windows, monitor, or in game settings will.
