40% not effective?

That means of your 50 man bomber fleet 20 bombers get decloaked - even if a single one gets decloaked the whole op is busted

its about afk cloaky campers, not an active bomber fleet. and for what its worth. we killed one yesterday using the mobile observatory but it took 4 pings before it decloaked him. along with the combat scanner guy and a killer guy, it only took an hour to eventually locate him and kill him. in the end a 100mil expense and time invested to kill a 40mil ship.

with the current implementation mechanics and the 40% means
60% of afkers need least 2 cycle to deloak
36% least 3

so in my understanding takes 20min in 60 out of 100, half an hour 1/3 of cases, more than an hour 1 out of 13
all asuming its actually afk, i have to agree, its pretty boring

You do realize there is no difference in the mechanics? So you think it’s ok for a bomber fleet to decloak and recloak after 15 min waiting for the target?

Great, i guess half on there is PVE bots, the rest just took place in a meaningless event that had literally no effect on the outcome of this “building project”

Now the real quesion: When is faction warfare getting a better tier bar so that the difference between both sides is 30% at max rather than 650% so that both sides can play at the same time instead of just one? : D

the original stated reason for the mobile observatory was to deal with AFK campers, not active players. The ridiculous addition of the cloak buff was CCP nonsense that made it so active campers dont have to move off their spot. in the case of the 50 man bomber fleet, that is active PVP, and they can move while cloaked, so no need to even use the buff.

Yall realise that this is a isk sink, and that’s all? Ok, let’s say u get lucky. You kill the camper. Yeeeeee! Hooooray!
20 minutes later:
…camper iz back!
…another 4-5 items thrown away till you can get his thrasher. So practically a camper scores the 3-4x his loss on you. I saw noone flying a expensive boat afk-camping. :wink:
Is camping overpowered? Ofc it is. But so is ratting.
It is not even fun, for none of the sides. It’s just a expensive hassle.
Won’t thank you for nothing, CCP. Not even worth.

If you do not have the buff, you will get decloaked. And it does NOT replenish if you are active, the timer will just run down. After 15 min you are fair game to the new structure or need to warp off, decloak, and warp in again after cloaking.

totally agree it is an isk sink. they could have ended afk cloaky campinig by simply requiring fuel to cloak. all the buff and MO nonsense is just another complicated mechanism like the dbs, ess, bounty modifier. it may work for some things, but generally just takes isk and time.

It’s a really poor analogy, stop repeating it.

This is a device in EVE that stops the function of a device on a player ship. It is an aggressive act by EVE standards.

Except clearly, it’s not. The people who determine those standards have not included it in the set of aggressive actions.

You can disagree all you like, but they obviously don’t think it’s an aggressive act. And since they define what does and doesn’t provoke an aggression timer, they’re right.

I really, really doubt that CCP gave it any thought at all.
