Or at least in settings must be «Use old Hangar» checkbox like on NPC stations.
Like player can choose: «Use DX12» or «Use old map» or «Use Proton interface».
It’s bad idea to force any new feature for old pilots without backward settings.
Great update for me. I know everyone’s system is different, but I’m getting similar framerates to last patch. My graphics are set to the lowest settings and I’m on DX11, but I’m not having issues. The docking animations don’t really bring me any joy, but they’re not bothering me either. I just like to see the gameplay changes, and I’m very happy to see the FW changes along with some ship balancing.
I’m running a Ryzen 5800X, 32GB RAM, and a RTX 3080. Also running 32" 2k monitors. I’m finding that switching back to DX11 and turning on vsync with your monitor refresh rate set to 60Hz brings my GPU back down to the mid 30% from the 90’s in space. In station fps drops to 30 fps from 60 and my gpu will spike into the 90’s until I leave it alone for a couple of seconds. Then it drops back to the 30’s.
There is defiantly going to be some performance issues with players with multiple characters.
The in station animations are nice but I don’t need to see it every time I switch in and out ships. It’s too much. Use the old ship switching in the same docking port. Or give us the option to just turn it off. I know you are just trying to make it look better but there are times were less is more. This is definitely one of those times.
Was the big “docking” animation really necessary ? I mean really. Sorry just not needed IMO.
The SKIN listing in the personalization’s/ship fitting really needs to be more compact like it was. This is another case where less is more. The old listing method was perfect the way it was.
Just my thoughts and performance feedback on some of the visual changes.
Try the view outside button… wont be able to see ships nor inside… but works fine for me.
This isn’t the first time they’re offering 7-day free Omega. They do that every now and again just in hopes of attracting some returning players.
The hangar animation needs to be linked to “Dynamic Camera Movement” so it can be turned off
We NEED a way to turn off the docking “banner”
And the sound on it needs to GO AWAY!!!
The new skin “tab” is horribly bad Put the old one back in plz
Changes Just to change something Is not a good idea
.
so far looks great… have 1 major grip and 1 minor.
minor issue is the station ship view sling shots back to original position, causes vertigo feeling…
major issue is no way to just turn off new station docking sounds without turning off all sounds… its like bad feedback in headset. using multiple accounts moving and docking alot it gets old fast
You seem to have lost the “+” icon in the title bar of chat windows to bring up the “Chat Channels” window. Still possible to bring up “Chat Channels” via Neocom but it was much easier to grab it from the already-open-and-prominent chat window. Put it back, or add it to the triple-dots menu at upper right corner, or add it to the gear menu.
Chat and being able to easy link other chat channels is very important to me in help chats. I need the ‘+’
I love the new hanger look.
It has a sense of scale as in the stations seem huge. It reminds me of a Heavy Metal style. Very nice, I have spent a bit of time just seeing where the art department hid the Easter Eggs.
To add my voice to the chorus, I do not understand any reason to add the docking bar, except to time the dock/undock sequence.
Assets being color coded to security level is a nice touch, too.
SKIN window needs some more luvin’.
Thanks for the free week of Omega, I’ll tack it on to my subscription… gladly!
Can we now get a big UNDOCKING Animation too ? Cause You never know… are You undocking or not ?
I just wish that CCP would stop trying to break this fantastic game. The docking animation adds nothing to the game and should have an opt out. This so called eye candy slows the game play and takes ages to transition to the station/space environment. Not asked for not wanted.
i like most of the graphics changes, but the docking animation (especially sfx) would definitely be nice to deactivate, but that’s sadly not the biggest issue.
using multiple clients im down from ~120 to ~20 fps on the active window but just when all clients are docked.
previously it wasn’t an problem, even on High Settings. now i need to turn “Shader Quality” to medium on every running client to get it atleast playable (~45-60 fps). the rest of the settings seem to have no big impact.
The sad thing with this is - the hangar (and especially ship) looks worse than before patch with these settings.
When all chars are undocked the game is running sweet even on high setting.
I’m running an slightly underclocked/undervolted rx590, so performance is more in the rx580 ballpark on an ryzen 1800x.
Thermal Throttling shouldn’t be the issue as far as i see, it’s no laptop either.
OS: Debian Sid with newest proton
dx11 or dx12 makes no real difference
that said disabling ship exterior on inactive clients is making it also playable, it also reduces the performance needed heavily, but doing this manually is a pain.
would it be possible to get following two options? it might not fix the performance issues but would be an useful addition to the game and also make the time to wait for a fix way easier
- always disable ship exterior on inactive client
- disable ship exterior on inactive and docked client
I sincerely hope that the persons responsible for the graphical design of UI elements, like the skill window, the skin preview window, the wallet, etc, are part of a separate company to which the job has been outsourced. That is just about the only excuse to “explain” the lack of understanding of said persons of how the game is played and which minimal standards those UI elements need to achieve. So far it’s been steps backwards in efficiency.
Form needs to follow function, especially in a game like ours where data density on the screen is and must be high. Continuous scrolling and extra clicking because of waste of space is anything but increased user friendliness. At most it may increase recognisability with interfaces on other devices, while relinquishing powerful desktop computers to the mere role of carriers of graphic cards (which are used inefficiently).
One would think a corporate guide or rule book on the pc game’s interface exists, with minimum conditions to be met according to the needs of the player (not the volatile fantasies of the “artist”).
Minor gripe. Overseers have oversight.
Is this a launcher advertised offer only?
Can’t see it on the webstore. I’ve just switched to SlackwareOS so don’t feel like battling with client right now.
Why is this offer not available via EVE Anywhere?
Uprising, well may CCP call this uprising as that is most likely what the player base will be doing. I have had one client stuck transitioning undock for 20 minutes. Congrats on CCP for introducing something that nobody wanted. This is what we get for the increase in subs cost, rubbish content that does not add to the game play. Make it so you can turn it off and go back to what we had before.
You misunderstand. the title refers to inflation.
All I can say is, I hope the krabs are happy, this “expansion” is a trash fire.
I just noticed that the Probe window tab now also flashes when a new sig spawns, in addition to the highlighting of the new sig. That’s pretty neat.
