Mining Modules are not working accross the board. Drones, however, can mine ore without issues.

After today’s update, my strip miners no longer activate when an asteroid is targeted. Also, the categories on the right of the Fitting window no longer stay expanded.

Apparently I missed some drama. How did a patch to mining drones (which basically act a mini ship) manage to affect ship modules like the mining lasers and ice harvesters?

CODE. always wins.

Serpentis Phi-Outposts are not despawning after completion. I found several with empty first rooms, the acceleration gate locked and no key in the can. I have a bunch of extra keys and upon returning with a key, the second and final room is also empty, no rats or Boss.

It is clear the site has been fully run but is not despawning properly.

You can add that completed missions are persistent in the Opportunities window until you accept another mission, without indication that they are finished or not. Why show it when it’s already handed in, done and history ?

Filed a bug report for this, can’t give the EBR number because, you know, months ago this started showing up:

Perhaps it will become part of that new launcher that’s still in beta, soon™

I had the same issue yesterday. Today, it seems to be working.

Thank you CCPPerson. :kissing_heart:

Reporting this issue:

The Opportunities window is much much worse than the journal was.

To remove unwanted storyline missions from the journal:

  1. Open the Journal
  2. See which missions are storyline immediately because they say “Storyline” on them.
  3. Right Click
  4. Select Remove offer

To remove unwanted storyline missions via the Opportunities window:

  1. Open Opportunities
  2. Filter to Agent Missions.
  3. There is no way to tell which are storyline missions and which are not. You have to individually memorise the names of each mission and then remember which are storyline missions.
  4. Right click the Mission
  5. Open Agent Dropdown
  6. Click “Start Conversation”
  7. Click “Decline mission” in the window that appears

The journal requires 3 clicks to decline unwanted storyline missions, and determining which missions were storylines were instant because it told you.

The Opportunities window requires extensive memorisation of mission names or to use an out of game mission website like eve-survival to determine which missions are storylines and then you have to do 6 clicks (including filter to agent missions) to remove them.

@CCP_Paragon
The undocumented changes to the Career Agent Producer missions are an unmitigated disaster, since Aura does not recognise that drones are a weapon, and thus will not allow a Venture to fly to the mission locations in either the fourth or ninth missions unless one mining laser is sacrificed to fit a weapon.

It is bad enough for the fourth mission, but for the ninth, which will be the only easy option for any new player to mine Kernite - valuable in its own right for resources, but also needed for the AIR Progress tasks - it means that mining speed is now halved wholly unnecessarily, just because of sloppy coding of Aura not knowing a drone is a weapon. The only way round it is to go out, mine until the target ship appears, kill it, then bookmark the spot, go back, rip out the weapon, refit the mining laser, then go back to the bookmark (Aura will be having a hissy fit) and carry on mining.

Annoying for a veteran with a newish character. Bewildering for a genuine new player…

Please, just get Aura to recognise drones!

Remember: this is all a CCP effort to reduce cognitive overload from the UI, make the UI easier to use and provide a better, more streamlined experience. It’s all working as intended.

While I agree that this needs to be changed, what you say is just untrue. you can use whatever you want, like a venture with two mining lasers and a drone to kill the rat. undock, right click in space, warp to the mission. no one needs the info panel - missions for anything and in fact, you can even disable it on top left info panel buttons which will also get rid of aura’s annoyances.

This is a critical design flaw! someone at ccp is thinking players who want to do missions need opportunities. no, they want missions!
Opportunities might be a good idea for people with no clue what to do. but the moment they decide what they want they should get a suitable UI for that task.
Looks to me like any other theme park mmo where you show players instant gratification tasks on a menu

You are wrong. A Venture has two turrets, right? Until the last set of patches, one could have mining lasers in each, with a drone (preferably two) in the bay.

Now, Aura will not provide the “Warp To” mission button unless one of those turrets has a weapon, halving the mining capacity of the Venture. It is ridiculous to say that you do not need the mission tab; these are intended to be easy for new players to understand - yet CCP have suddenly decided that even that was not sufficiently clear, hence all this new stuff, clearly coded by someone who has never played the game in a meaningful way.

Please, stop looking at this from the perspective of someone who knows all the little tricks of the game, and focus on the perspective of new players. CCP have been utterly clueless on this aspect for a long time, and the only sensible improvements to the “NPE” came courtesy of @Mike_Azariah

you are not getting it unfortunately :frowning:

dumbing down the UI for new players will not improve anything. Just tell them how to use the ‘proper’ UI. disable the info panel , dont pretent to play WoW, and start playing Eve.

I suspect I have been playing Eve a lot longer than you. I do get it. But you are wilfully missing the point. @Mike_Azariah did a lot of good work to reduce the gradient of the learning curve for new players, to lead them into playing the game and beginning to understand it. The old mission dialogue boxes and instructions were fine, no need for performance killing blue highlighting, or overly prescriptive coding whereby Aura forced you to take unnecessary actions.

Anyway, not wishing to pick a fight with you, but I do get irritated when falsely called out . My feedback above stands, and you will see that quite a few other people, who understand both the game and the points I am making, agree with me.

The only thing that it reduced the cognitive overload on is it made it even easier for more people to be aware that CCP doesn’t play their own game.

If I may.
Don’t need to be in a Venture to do every mining career missions.

What I did for those missions was warp there in a Punisher with three energy turrets and one mining turret. Started mining to draw out the rat, shot him and got the hostage and left a bookmark at the mission site, then went back to the station and jumped into my venture to empy the site of the Kernite. Time for the mission is 6 hours. I handed the guy and finished the mission with plenty of time to spare.

It improved my understanding of how the UI works and how to use it, along with other things I wouldn’t have found were it not for Aura and the UI.
