CCP didn’t even change something but they screwed up something new regardless, or changed it for 0 logical reason.
I orbit this accell gate at 500 m. The TacOverview ring, however, is now inside the gate perimeter and not outside of it. This is highly confusing because you have to be outside activation range of the gate to see the TacOverview ring outside of the perimeter ring.
This is not intuitive at all. I do not understand why, if this was indeed intentional, someone would make a PERIMETER ring, a ring that signifies the 0 sphere of an object in EVE into an ACTIVATION sphere that is not nearly as well defined and logical to recognize. For instance, if this ring was extended to 2.5 km around Stations as well, people would come to believe that they would dock at 2.5km from a station. But this is not the case, far from it. You approach a station for at least another 2.2 km before the game actually starts the docking procedure. Likewise, now the ring tells you that you are orbiting something WITHIN the decloak range of the object, which you want to avoid at all cost in most circumstances. You want to see clearly that you orbit outside of decloak range of the object.
This is highly confusing if it is indeed an intentional change. Thus, it must be one of these UI changes that make the the gameplay experience “easier, more streamlined and better to understand”.
