With less then half the systems running in perma-tidy yesterday, I guess it’s time to try hosting eve on a rasperry pi. If you people would subscribe more alts, CCP would have the money to run a real server, too.
Welcome to another of my post where i am gonna complain on the ccp server be down because skinry broke pos code or something
but don’t worry, all you have to do it’s making more omega alts for hilmar and his blockchain side job and all will be resolve.
I don’t even necessarily want to get in. I just want to know what’s going on because I am losing scanner probes and potentially a ship as I was in a combat plex under NPC aggro. We get a shutdown notice before DT so that people can get their stuff to safety and don’t start reckless stuff like Abyssals. Would be nice if this also happened after the restart as the server was definitely up and running.
The NPCs don’t keep playing when the server is down… you’ll be fine.
Whatever the code breakage was, it wouldn’t have been noticed had CCP not once again tested it in production.
Is it down?
Isn’t it not just not accepting connections?
So what’s ccp doing these years?
tons of skins
discount for plex
vanguard
the economy and industrial system are in tatters.
the server stability is god damn s**t
you screw it up ccp
Might want to link us to some of your ‘breakfast kills’ then? Just for reference, to show how ‘easy’ it is? Please!
Can’t find you on those killmails somehow. But all doubt aside, purely out of curiosity, why should someone try to use a camped ansiblex gate with up to 8 hostiles in local and no proper defense fleet up? Can’t expect to win a 1:8, right?
Doesn’t look a lot like unfair space magic, just one side with a proper plan and setup vs. another side without.
With this new update AMD FSR 1.0 upscaling turned off and can’t be enabled again! I was using AMD FSR previously and was getting 100+ FPS on a station but now it’s only 40-60 FPS which is a huge slow down. I see the AMD FSR 1.0 in the dropdown list but when I select it, the display flickers one time but Upscale Setting dropdown list is not active. And when I close the settings widow after that, I see that upscaling is disabled again. So, obviously it can’t be saved. And yes, V-Sync is disabled if you would ask me.
Please, return the upscaling feature back! My setup: Mac mini M4 Pro, 24GB.
Mac version becomes unplayable with 5 FPS, AMD FSR not working
MacBook Pro 14 with 64gb ram, M2 Max.
Because you didn’t need to use proper precautions and safety measures until now because lots of jump gates were always in visible range of gates. It’s definitely not special space magic but just normal camping.
My point was also that this group on these kills is not completely against engagable fights with more than just unfortunate sods that didn’t pay attention. They also take on manageable risk (small, lackluster defense fleets, for instance) for actual fights instead of just farming. Goons needed to field 10+ Multiboxer CFIs at times to prevent the campers from farming the gates. A simple recon or hic is not going to dissuade them. Instead, they maybe feed a dictor or other tackle to get the recon/hic kill with the snipers and then peace out.
Then everything is fine I guess, no reason to complain? Usual safety measures and this little camper’s gang isn’t going to be a big problem for a home owner that has multiple ships to select as counters and (hopefully) a staging fleet from the Sov Alliance nearby in case those campers want to escalate by “jumping in a dread” (as claimed).
Sounds like a good thing. And nobody ever suggested to field small luckluster defense fleets against a skilled attacker’s comp. Thats why the first hint was: check their killboards, then call a superior with combat experience, THEN form a defensive gang. And nothing is easier countered than a bunch of sniping ships with a closerange tackler if you can bring somewhat equal numbers.
Nothing to complain about if things stay as they are. There would be lots of things to complain about if things like 60 second warp penality would be implemented, as someone demanded earlier.
Feedback re engine update:
-
2 out of 3 launch attempts so far froze the client before even being able to undock.
-
FPS while docked up is down by around 40% (from 300 to 180 unthrottled on low shader).
-
performance looks fine (improved) when undocked with more normal settings
-
FPS massively changes depending on how many and what graphics (items) are on screen, far more so than before (with changes of ±30% in FPS rate).
-
CPU load seems better spread across eight cores compared to before, even if it seems to take a minute or two to evenly spread out.
-
Loading in graphics - after switching off engine via CTRL-F9 and back on - massively tanks CPU performance, increasing CPU load by about 50% compared to base load.
-
Graphics card gets considerably hotter on base load than before. This is very negative considering i run a passive setup.
… has this thing been tested? Like, at all?
The tests are currently ongoing as we speak.
EVE seems to ignore both my GPU Driver’s and it’s own Settings. Or the FPS Monitor doesn’t work.
I have limited Max FPS in the Radeon Software to 120 and also my Monitor is set to 120 Hz. I have actvated VSync in EVE and set VSync to “always on” in the Radeon Software.
Still the EVE FPS counter jumps between 140 and 250 FPS (Highest Quality Settings, AMD FSR Ultra Quality enabled).
holy ■■■■ has this gone bad.. clients freezing to the point of blue screening
I launched the game, loged in, seleted a character, and then game crash.
so changed volumetric effects to low and its smooth again…
