Well yes, but you still have to get there through hostile space. So I don’t think that FW or gallente missioning players will suddenly start flying to Jita in haulers or freighters.
Is this really a game changer? It wasn’t disallowed to dock before and while there and the danger of caldari FW players camping the station in one-shot instalock ships is still going to be there since the system is still deep inside caldari space.
Previously players on bad terms with caldari had to use fast agile ship like shuttle to get in and dock and then contract the bought stuff to hauling alliance to get it where they need it. Or make a neutral alt and haul it themselves or just buy it and put it on contract again.
Sure this makes a life of these players in Jita bit easier, but I don’t think it truly changes anything in this regard. Maybe some gallente players get baited to come, get killed at dock, undock or at any gate trying o leave Jita and then they return back to the above workarounds.
Indirect buff by making Jita more attractive so you expect more targets for gankers? That is stretching it a bit imo…
If you had negative Caldari standings, you were at risk from the station defenses and opposing FW. Now you’re just at risk from CONCORD (which you can buy off) and opposing FW.
And yes, making Jita more accessible to everyone will probably draw more traffic and players eventually (emphasis on eventually).
I think the larger (immediate) effect is that it will greatly start diminishing the other major trading hubs.
It always starts slowly with just a couple of little changes here and there, then a couple of big changes are quickly implemented which then transforms the original content into something completely different..
CCP/FC removing Faction Standing repercussions in Jita is just another little step in eliminating player accountability and consequences for actions… Now you may think it’s not a game changer but it’s definitely moving towards it, especially since CCP/FC just recently removed negative derived standing penalties from Faction War…
Now I don’t particularly care one way or the other about Faction War.. What I do care about is having one of the main core aspects that this game was founded on being reduced and or removed, specifically the core aspect that player decisions and actions have real consequences…
CCP/FC trying to make every player action be a positive gain for instant gratification with no negative repercussions basically turns this great Sci-Fi Virtual Reality into a Fantasyland Theme Park..
Having the system as CONCORD means gankers are automatically buying off Jita now as well. I wonder if CONCORD will respond faster or slower in Jita now?
If I have a 5.0 standing in Jita, doesn’t this mean that CONCORD should come to my rescue faster? Because the system security (0.9) shouldn’t really matter anymore as Empire standings don’t apply.
I don’t think so. Trade hubs exist by virtue of physical separation. Somebody living in Kor-Azor isn’t going to do his shopping in Jita when Amarr is just around the corner.
Yes I know that. But it really wasn’t a problem. First of all, workarounds exists. I already mentioned a Jita alt or coming in with shuttle and getting the stuff you buy to destination of your choice via ccourier contracts. And even enemy of empire can dock in said empire stations.
Seconds, it was never a problem. I must admit I never had negative standings to any major empire, but afaik the npcs that shows up if you are enemy of the empire:
spawn late
do not instalock
do not warp disrupt
can be tanked (unlike CONCORD or the “facpo”)
can be killed (in that case they will respawn after few minutes, not sure if same or stronger, but even the respawned fleet can still be tanked and killed)
So, this really didn’t prevent anyone to fly to Jita, dock there, buy/sell and leave. It is not impossible to die to these npcs, but as long as you don’t autopilot, don’t AFK in space and just jump gates, it was never a problem.
And if someone considered it a problem, then the Jita itself not having these limitations won’t really help him because that is deep in heart of caldari space so he is still facing these problems in about 10 systems from closes highsec non-Caldari system.
No you can buy security status only in lowsec CONCORD stations. Plus AFAIK no CONCORD station was added in Jita anyway (which is good because that would allow to sell stuff like DED boxes and triglavian datas there).
And no CONCORD response is same everywhere it doesn’t matter what faction owns the system. And it has nothing to do with player’s faction standings.
It’s absolutely not the first CONCORD systems, they already owned a constellation out in Genesis (notably Yulai, the original trade hub). And no, CONCORD standings are separate from security status. CONCORD police, which responds to low security status or active ganking in any highsec system, are the ones who instakill you. CONCORD faction police are like any empire faction police, they will attack you on gates and stations if your standings with the faction are too low, but they don’t instantly kill you, and you can warp off at will. They’re basically a nuisance.
And no, you can’t pay off CONCORD faction police, only the antiganking CONCORD police. In fact if you mess up your CONCORD standings, for example by running pirate faction missions in nullsec, you can’t ever repair them, and CONCORD faction police will forever hunt you down. Normally no big deal since they’re just a single constellation over in Genesis (Pakhshi being the important exception as a system on the new highsec Jita-Amarr route), but with Jita becoming a CONCORD system this faction standing now actually matters and CCP needs to either return Jita to rightful Caldari hands or add a way to raise CONCORD standings.

After clicking the new shield icon next to the system name and selecting “Show security rules on map,” the Security Tiers card became permanently attached to my map UI.
There is a button to pin the card, but there’s not any option to fully hide or disable it. Whenever my cursor moves over the right side of the map, the panel automatically slides out and obstructs the view while I’m trying to use the map.
When I logged in today all my toons safeties were green. At first I thought is this it? Did they finally removed ganking? But no, it can be changed back to red. Seems to be another ganking nerf. Will reset to green after every relog.
I’m honestly surprised that players were expecting Exordium to be 100% on the first attempt… All things considered, it’s mostly working as advertised. And I understand it’s very pretty.
