Sounds plausible, but if this was the case then it would have been affecting the standings of mission runners in popular L4 mission hubs for decades and we definitely would have noticed that. I’ve never received any random standings gains or losses. It’s just these sites.
Well either you are killing rats from the Empire, which means you expect to lose standings, or you are not and thus not eligible. You have to be killing rats of the same empire, but lower standings to notice.
I’ve had support revert my derived standing loss in the past on these Warpath sites. It stopped happening for a week but it started again after I tried the War Grid sites.
I think I’m just going to wait until the event is over to make another ticket - but they should resolve it.
I agree 100%…
Exactly 100% correct..
As for the incorrectly named NPC listed in the standing loss notification, I’d blame that on CCP/FC’s faulty programming…
What I am describing in the video is a known fact of how the standings system works. I first really became aware of this in pochven with Rogue Drone standings but I have been told by FC that this bug has cropped up multiple times forever.
As far as mission runners, as I mentioned for this to happen you have to be killing rats of the same group as one being killed but have no standings. So mission runners wouldn’t necessarily notice this.
Killing Amarr ships and getting a loss in standing is expected though. It’s just the value that would be different depending on the max size of the standing value killed in the system from the Amarr. He isn’t saying that you killing generic merc will get you Amarr standing loss. It has to be of the same faction. This is a thing FC has said exists, but it’s normally not an issue. This is a thing that is commonly seen in Pochven standings.
