Voices of New Eden - New Podcast

This month, January 2025, will be my 5 year anniversary playing Eve. Over these 5 years I’ve had a chance to talk to and interact with a lot of players and inevitability a few questions come up:

  • how long have you played?
  • how did you get into Eve?
  • what do you do?
  • who do you fly with?

These pop up in fleet comms, in the socials, discords, local chat, Fanfest and other player meetups. Everyone seems to love to hear a player’s Eve story. So, in order to not lose momentum on the crazy week and a half where I interviewed 27 CSM19 candidates, I decided to start a new project.

Because I need more projects in my life apparently. :grinning:

I’m incredibly proud to introduce a new podcast series called Voices of New Eden. These are stories from real players who make up our in game world. Some are space famous, a lot you’ll have never heard of before. Every voice no matter how big or small deserves a platform to tell their story.

New episodes are released on Sunday every 2 weeks!

Looking for the audio only versions? Check here! (other podcast platforms to come)

In these conversations, not only do we answer those questions above, but we also find out what their personal pain points are with Eve. They could be game mechanics, CCP decisions and there’s even been one with communities.

There are of course other questions asked, but you’ll have to watch the videos to find out more!

Did you watch the videos? Do you want to participate? The only requirements are that you’ve played Eve at some point and are willing to either be voice recorded (cams are an option, not a requirement) or write out answers to questions to be recorded by someone else.

You can either find me on Discord as Kshal Aideron to ask questions or request the booking link, or you can send an Eve Mail!

The 8th episode of Voices of New Eden was released on Sunday the 26th! This episode spotlights Commander A9, an incursion runner and creator of the Luminaire Snowball Fight!

And there’s some exciting things in the works. I will be converting the current episodes into audio podcasts that will be uploaded in some popular places people like listening to podcasts.

Also, starting next month (Feb25) there will be some bonus content showing up. This is content that had to be cut out from the interview to keep it under 20 minutes. From Commander A9 I have the entire history of HOW we got to the Luminaire Snowball Fight came to be! Also the time before PLEX and other great topics!

And there’s plans of getting players into a channel and letting them talk about things like DUST, the state of Homefronts and other topics. If anyone has any ideas let me know!

And we’re at episode 9! Angskel Issod, a pvper and player that arranged the Denim Day NPSI fleet in 2024 (keep an eye out for the 2025 fleet in April!).

Alright folks, we made it to interview #10! This week’s video is from a pirate faction warfare player who is also leading a corp within the community Eve Rookies.

Episode #11 is from a player known as CaseyLP! He found Eve via Dust 514 and is a dedicated pvper. And, his biggest pain point is projection.

My apologies for the 2 week delay. VONE is a 1 woman show and I needed a break to do some other things (as well as actually play Eve) before I start getting the next set of videos edited!

But, we’re back! This week I have a player who was only about 2 months into playing Eve at the time of his interview.

Those of us who have been playing awhile “think” we know what new players want. However, when they come into the game it is what it is. They usually don’t have a lot of expectations (outside of when they can fly the ships they saw in the “This is Eve” video…). So it’s interesting to see Eve from a new players perspective.

But, instead of me yabbering about it, why don’t you take a listen to the interview?!

You’ve probably noticed the release of the VONE videos slowing down a little bit. This isn’t because I lack videos. To the contrary, I have a lot of players signing up! This is more due to trying to balance running a huge Eve community, real life and editing videos.

So I’m moving to an every 2 week release for now to see if that better balances things. If I’m able to put them out more frequently I’ll do so!

Anyways, this Sunday we have Frozen Fallout who’s a faction warfare content creator! In his interview you’ll find out why he started playing Eve and how the Federation Frontline Report came about!
