OSHT-A as a dividable room so we can have OSHT-B and maybe C as well
Totally not serious but OSHT-A is a system in Curse connecting to Catch… Perfect for those crisis meetings, you know you want to.
But I do like solar systems. Yulai for the security team, Jita and the other trade hubs for marketing, accounting and other financial things.
The Ship class names in EVE hold more than enough good names for a whole building of different areas:
Amarr\Sansha names for heavy decisions of Nightmare, Apocalypse, Curse.
Presentation area Revelation would also be a fit.
Gallente Iteron Mark V if you have some reeeeally long room.
Miasmos for whatever reason you could smell out.
Phobos and Deimos paired rooms are also nice, related to actual space.
Moros or Kryos if there are cold enough room.
Vindicator room just sound cool.
Endurance - area for long CSM sessions.
Nidhoggur - well, for some room directly under roof, i suppose?
Monitor, well, the name is self-explanatory, just as it in game.
If take special edition ships into account there are Echo and Victor, which are reminding for phonetic alphabet
There is a bunch of other worthy possibilities obviously.
We got to have a Jita
осознание и гордость за те корабли на которых летает сообщество евы онлайн
Clearly has to be solar systems. Unique to Eve, and so much lore and history surrounding Yulai, Jita, Asakai etc. Who doesn’t want to tell arguing colleagues to sort it out at Amamake, or just to get to Hek?
Constellations are too unfamiliar.
Regions are often too long, and whose job will it be to remove the ‘lowsec gate to…’ above the door to ‘Stain’ vandalism every. single. day?
Ships are often too generic, just animals, mythical beasts, gods etc. Also, have to question the impartiality of the OP here :colbert:
For lore purposes, the CSM meeting room should be Yulai, or Yoiul
OLD MAN STAR
“Let’s go to the OMS” or “Is OMS camped?” referring to leadership in the office. =)
P.S. Gate Camp… Old Man Star
To me, EVE Online is more than just a game. It feels like reality in a distant future. And the fact that we have solar systems names in the game adds to that reality. Very good job choosing the names we have in EVE universe by the way. I prefer using solar system names for 3 reasons I could think of:
1-) There are more Solar System Names in game than the other 3 categories if we compare them all. So, it will give more room for future expansion (more rooms/offices? no problem, we have many names available).
2-) Good potential for organization or classification. For example, Amarr solar systems names for rooms on the first floor, Gallente solar system names for second floor, etc.
3-) And last but not least, because beside of being cool names, I think we mention them more than the rest (other categories) when in game.
P.S. Let’s meet in Dodixie…
was a hard decision, I REALLLY want to see a room named R1O (and pronounced Rio of course) but I love the idea of ship names, especially a Celestis and a Vigil.
Ship Class Names or Ship Names?
First of all, an EVE game about spaceships and the first thing that is heard by the players of Ship class Names. This is closer to them than everything suggested. Voted for it (while the majority considers the same).
On the other hand, according to the history of EVE, the return journey to the solar system was lost and it would be very symbolic to give the names Solar System Names. This would add symbolism - the developers as representatives of the lost homeland, which subconsciously all the pilots of New Eden want to return to, or at least find a way …
I vote Solar System Name as it easily means something to capsulers.
Region names are not interesting except for those involved in large wars.
Constellation names… well like the constellation channel. nobody read it.
Ship class names… interesting but to specific and would mean some segregation in CCP between Eve races. 'Abaddon room - no minmatar slave authorized
As a all known system solar know, i strongly recommend “OLD MAN STAR”.
As this is one of those systems, where only the bold souls or crazy guys jump in. The first ones have good memories with fair fights, where the second have an awfull taste of *ù$!? unfair fights (to a first kill loss mark).
At least OLD MAN STAR brings some strong feelings to all capsulers that jumped in once. Even the one that go through clearly and finally think he had a good day \o/.
Where do bored null players come to hear their heart bit? >> OMS
Where do Dwayne Johnson & Jason Statham train up ? >> OMS
Kudos to OMS.
No option for “roomy mcroomface”?!
I voted for Ship Class Names mainly because, for any Capsuleer, their ship is their lifeblood. It’s what allows them to go out into space, explore, fight and build their legacies among the stars. Not to mention, ships are virtually extensions of a casuleers own bodies once they interface throgh their pod. Some ship names that I think would make absolutely kick-ass room names are:
Astarte
Stratios
Praxis
Hyperion
Pontifex
Providence
Ark
Arazu
Phobos
Deimos
Avatar
Ishtar
Nyx
Legion
Fenrir
Leviathan
Confusing, Is it ship class names or ship names??
I like the idea of system names, because there are alot to choose from, and you can yell across the hall, “hey man, ill meet you over in Vittenyn after i’m done with this mission” and they will wonder if its in game or in the Vittenyn meeting room… =)
Howdy folks.
Ship class is at the center of any Eve Online activity, for we the capsuleer are at the heart of the ship.
To be honest each of the poll work, however it does lack finer control.
Ship class in itself doesn’t make a good name for a room.
My suggestion is to use the top two results and then make a new name from the two results ie: JitaFreighter and so forth…
Just an idea.
One of them should be named “DEV-666”.
We need: Tannhäuser Gate ,in memory of our most beloved Android and recently passed away actor Rutger Hauer, who inspired us with the tears in the rain speech and made us wonder about C-beams and attack ships.
