I cannot use dotlan to figure out people in space. I also cannot use dotlan to figure out a route quickly in a contract. I also cannot use dotlan for fleet members in space. I also cannot use dotlan to figure out at a glance hot spots all over the universe. just to name some things.
But you are right. For most other things, I use Dotlan because it is even easier to read and use than even the old map.
