Welcome your new CSM

These aren’t the WoW forums, please stop resorting to personal attacks and show some class. As you deleted your original post, I’m assuming you don’t disagree with my assessment. I appreciate a willingness for anyone to be introspective.

Oh believe me I disagree with everything you are saying and it’s not a personal attack I am attacking the fact that you are using risk of something that he is not doing spend that time going after his attackers and not him

Sir, he’s a CSM. He’s not part of the masses like, well I am for example. He was voted into a position to represent the interests of all players which likely amount to getting more people to play the game, and less people to leave the game.

Since he holds this station, he sets an example whether he likes it or not. Others have a right to attack his position if they disagree with his views, he’s elected. He does not have that luxury as an elected CSM to berate them in return. If others personally attack him they should be warned, suspended, banned etc. If others attack his viewpoints, that’s something Brisc is obligated to review, consider, and respond to (with civility).

You have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m a player, like you. I have no obligations whatsoever, beyond what CCP places on the program, which includes showing up to meetings and participation. Most CSM members never post here, at all.

My constituents do not care if I tell somebody who is actively lying about what I do in the game that they’re wrong, nor do they care if I do it in a way that concern trolls consider to be “uncivil.” In fact, that would probably gain me votes.

I ran for CSM, not Supreme Court Justice. You have no idea what you’re talking about and I appreciate it if you’d stop.

That’s what a troll would say.

That’s boring😑.

Supreme Court Justices are appointed, not elected.

This is not correct. It depends on the jurisdiction. In the United States, federal Supreme Court justices are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate.

Most states, however, have some kind of election process for Supreme Court Justices. Supreme Court Justices at the state level in Illinois, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina have partisan elections for their Supreme Court. Washington State, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi and Georgia all have non-partisan elections for their Supreme Courts. Many other states have a retention election after a gubernatorial appointment (California, Alaska, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee, Indiana Maryland and Florida).

Further the point of my statement was to make it clear that there’s a difference between being elected to a player focus group and being elected to a legislature or other governmental organization. You can argue all you want that an elected official should be civil (and many of them aren’t, honestly - I’ve got twenty years experience with this), but my point stands - your artificial and subjective views on my behavior are unnecessary.

Now, if you want to keep being a pedant, feel free, but I’m better at this than you are.

My views, they are just that, my views. Your responses draw my responses, your silence draws my silence (unless you are rude to other players again at least, which I hope you are not). I’ve said my piece, and am happy to let others draw their own conclusions and have been until you keep bringing it up.

I believe you underestimate the level of respect that CCP has for the CSM organization as I’ve seen many changes made by the company in direct support of CSM recommendations. To say it’s just a focus group is misleading. What you as a CSM suggest to CCP is taken seriously, so whether you like it or not, you do represent the interest of players around the game (lest there wouldn’t be an election).

As for being pedantic, you were saying I didn’t know what I was talking about in the same sentence with stating the Supreme Court justices were elected. So it seemed ironic to me (yes I’m certain your initial reference was to the highest court in the land). And as for your behavior, pointing out and objecting to bullying and rudeness…what could be more necessary?

However, given that real life matters have now been drawn into a debate about game matters once you mentioned the Supreme Court, I recommend if you have further statements for me that we take the discussion offline (or not at all). Either way, I won’t respond again on this matter (unless you treat another player with disrespect or bully someone again down the road).

All the best,

-J

I am not sure why you keep repeating “I’ve said my piece” and then continue posting. If you’re done, be done.

Again, as always, I find it amusing when people who have never served on the CSM try to lecture folks who have about what the job is and what CCP thinks about it. I think it’s pretty obvious I have more experience and understanding on this than you do, but instead of taking what I say at face value, you try to substitute your personal opinion for mine, which doesn’t make any sense given I have experience and you don’t.

I have no desire to talk to you, at all. I respond here because I’m not going to let some pedantic concern troll who signs his posts dictate to me what I can and can’t say.

@CCP_Dopamine &co.
have wish here, CCP, to include in the CSM campaign policy and other polices they have to sign, if not already there, that CSM members, when posting on the forums and other CCP platforms, should maintain a much higher standard than any other player, be respectful to others when commenting, and behave examplary for others to follow. Someting similar to what we could reasonably expect from CCP employees and ISD’s. Even if they would feel insulted, they should still respond in a civilised manner with facts and correctness and not pour more fuel over the fire.

Those CSM members who, in contrast to such a policy, fail to maintain a civilised discussion should IMO be instantly kicked out and declared unfit to represent the gaming community.

Just study this thread, from around post #120 and down to here, for numerous flames, smacktalk, insults and other examples of what should IMO never be acceptable.

What you are really suggesting is that no CSM member ever use these forums.

I don’t know why there is such an outcry from a sector of EVE players complaining about how Brisc communicates in the forums. The vast majority of the time Brisc answers in a snarky way is because, once again, he is accused of violating either some official limitations, only shilling for null, not listening to their point of view, or another player stating their opinions as outright facts. Knowing all the cr@p that he had to face in RL a couple years ago based on unproven allegations, I can understand why he has little patience to deal with those type of people.
Brisc and Mike are about the only CSMs to come here and hold a dialogue with the general player population; the other 8 are MIA on the boards. Quit throwing out wild accusations and opinions and trying to represent them as facts; Brisc may respond more to your liking in return. Anyway, enough white knighting for Brisc, he’s a big boy. Just stop trying to get one of the best CSM members in regards to communication, availability, and effectiveness canned because he replies in kind.

have wish here, CCP, to include HTFU into EULA, and making getting offended on behalf of a bannable offence on the forums.

Keep your SJW virtue signalling activism BattleShip to yourself.

Theres no fighting with SJWs. Likes of you never argue, never listen. You’re talking over him, repeating your agenda, appealing to CCPs authority. Exposed you switch alts.

Pretty sure you’re not interested in the game, only in manipulating people around you.

I believe this personal attack is in violation of forum rules. I ask ISD to remove the post or close the thread at this time.

Ahhahahahaha I still look at forums for funz …. Hillarious … this is the place where people who knows nothing about anything but talk like an expert and morover than correct the others who tell the truth …

Hillarious hillarious ….

They represent players as in they are representative of the playerbase, but have no obligations whatsoever to represent those who vote them in as in gathering feedback and being nice on the forum.

If only you’d read what you quoted.

Exactly they represent every player . So stop deviating and being deceptive and make word games . @Siegfried_Tahl .

Solid reasoning and good point.
You mistake is expecting quality in communications. Thats is not possible. Not everybody has spine and skills to bring this on … and it is definately not a quality CCP expect from player presentatives.
CCP doesnt expect them to be respectfull either.

As you can see RESPECT is reserved for CCP and other CSM members. They dont have to be respectfull towards player base.

Hey @CSM!

Do you guys know if you’re going to get to go to Iceland? Are the pandemic regs going to prevent or reschedule this?
