Well this makes EvE look like a terrible game CCP :(

My PhD is better than yours.

And now I’m heading off too bed, since I obviously can’t think in coherent arguments anymore

GroupThink.

The idea that you must be correct when the likeminded agree with it. Spotted a totalitarian mind! Fascinating!

On a tangent, thats sort of why this new line of advertising is bad.

The marketers/advertisers are trying to portray EVE in terms persons used to other FTP/P2W games understand.

The uninitiated will think they get 2 exclusive hulls, as they would in War Thunder of WoT, which they can re-use. They have no idea its just a couple crap frigates with modules that cost far more in PLEX translation for their purchase than their nominal value ingame in isk.

And many of them wont understand that they can and may lose both of them in mere minutes/hours of starting EVE.

Its a recipe for disappointment and buyers regret.

On another tangent, the Buddy program is BY FAR the best way to introduce a new player to EVE. If I have any advise for CCP, its to heavily re-market that program.

Shittiest trolling I’ve ever seen. 0/10.

Crap frigates that they either get from the career agents anyway or could afford right after. Definitely, they won’t need them before doing the agents.
The bonus, that could be understood as main selling point, is almost completely worthless - even if you buy this pack for the Plex only it doesn’t add any significant value that makes this a special offer or sale of any kind. Considering this and also considering how this ad looks and what kind of people this most likely addresses (primarily not the kind that will be happy in Eve) just makes this a bad ad.

This doesn’t mean that someone who is buying this pack is automatically stupid. You can very well see right through this ad scam and buy it nevertheless. However, this really should be only the case if you want the Plex. If you do it for the ships, congratulations, you’ve been scammed into a Plex purchase.
By the way, both frigates combined have a smaller Isk value than a third of a Plex. Just to put the this into perspective.

You realize that you’re basically spitting in the face of everyone in that age group and call them idiots, totally incapable of thinking for them self?

One might consider this rude. Personally I don’t think generalizing in general* as a good idea if you would want to be taken seriously.

Sorry, I have a strange kind of humor some times. :stuck_out_tongue:

Depends on the perspective, I guess. I surely see the potential for some irony.
Hm… now after I wrote that, I don’t feel very totalitarian - like I should if I understood @yellow_parasol correctly.
But well, maybe I shouldn’t trust my self while being manipulated by the advertising industry all day…

I recently bought 4 jars of peanut butter because it was -20%. I like peanut butter. Nothing like a good price cut.

False.

Also false.

Hypothetical people who are so stupid that they provide perfect ‘evidence’ for your point. Only you made them up.

Exactly. Nor do I think droves of stupid drooling zombie brained people are rushing to buy the pack like lemmings throwing themselves off a cliff. If we accept that this is not the case though, then half of the ‘arguments’ above based on the entire human race (except themselves of course) being dumb kinda falls apart.

That is the general stance taken here by most of the people arguing against the advert. Charming isn’t it?

Welcome to the collective :hugs:

Oh no no no, you only think you like peanut butter because you are brainwashed and can’t think for yourself, and the -20% advert made you buy it.

Would you guys mind stopping feeding the troll? He just keeps others, and you, from having sensible diecussions.

I’m sure we can somehow teach the ISD and CCP that “having a different opinion” isn’t the same as “argueing for the sake of it” and “spreading nonsense”.

This is funny.

It’s the price we pay for relaxed forum rules.

No. It has always been like this. They let them spread their lies, fallacies and nonsense with no regard for the health of discussion. For the sake of a community talking intelligently, things need to change towards higher standards.

whole thread is poppy cock, idiots are idiots no matter how much cash they throw at stuff.

The only place I know that isn’t overrun by trolls and illiterates is https://news.ycombinator.com/news

If you want to have engaging, worthwhile and intellectually interesting discussions, HN is the place to go.
