I was just asking what you consider a “short(ish)” term is and who’s stockpiles are getting smaller.
As it has been near enough to two years now, with little to no impact on CCP’s stated goal.
No the purpose of scarcity was to bleed the mega rich a little but tell me. Who will bleed first and worst, those with trillions in isk and assets or the average joe with a few billion in isk and assets.
Scarcity treats everyone who logs in equally, it doesn’t care if you have trillions or a few hundred million, scarcity is meant reduce the amount you have over time, if it actually works (which with no real data is still up for debate).
They’ll sell or use them over time and even if they hold onto them that’s fine as it’s essentially being worthless and temporarily removed so still good
And CCP didn’t specify who’s stockpiles. It would be weird if they did.
'I’d just like to announce that goons are running on fumes. Just thought you’d like to know.’
Yeah that’s not true.
Risk/reward has been re-balanced across multiple areas. Some afk play has been reduced. And production has been slowed.
I swear you guys ignore what CCP release in dev blogs, make up your own objectives and go 'ha you failed!’
If you’re talking about the industry changes specifically that just happened about a month ago then of course the affects haven’t been fully felt yet. Geeze.
Whomever has the highest turnover. I.e. Null blocs.
Not hi-sec players that barely ever lose ships. Not casual players that barely lose ships. Not small gang players that hardly ever lose ships.
Null blocs.
No it doesn’t. Bloody hell. How ignorant must one be.
High-sec has been barely affected. Missions and incursions are completely untouched and veldspar mines much like it used to. Value has been added to hisec moons.
Meanwhile bounties in null are down. Entire asteroid belts have been removed and all of the ore. All. Of. It. has been nerfed.
On top of that null blocs burn through a disproportionate amount of ships.
My thoughts on scarcity? It was a problem six months ago. When I was still playing. Is it over yet? I still have some ISK on my account I plan to spend 2/3 months after scarcity ends. IF scarcity ends.
I’m not really sure.
If you believe even half of what you wrote, I’d say pretty fukin ignorant and a whole lot naive.
CCP buffing highsec to cater to millenials isn’t going to address issues that have plagued the game for years.
Of course having thousands of players that never lose anything but can make isk hand over fist, is just so good for the economy.
Sounds like CCP have just shifted the problem of excess isk to an area of the game that has the least risk.
Wow, read your own post. Risk/Reward hasn’t been “re-balanced”. Reward has been removed from some areas and shifted to areas with little to no Risk.
Remember too, making nulsec worthless as far as rewards go may be good for the player economy but it comes at an income cost to CCP as those with multiple accounts drop subs because they no longer need those alts.
You’ve seemingly been around for 10 years, do you honestly believe CCP blogs are accurate OR do they just tell the story CCP wants the masses to believe.
Keep in mind, CCP created the issues that plague the game now and there were blogs then too.
I don’t know what’s true for you but for many many players, myself included, it will be a LONG time before scarcity has any affect. All it has done so far is make me wealthier than I’ve been in the last 17 years of playing Eve. I’ve gone from 15 accounts to 2 and only login now for content.
I’m even for the first time in my career thinking of ganking as content.
Do i believe nullsec has been nerfed by scarcity more than hi-sec? Yes. You’d have to be quite blind or so incredibly self absorbed not to see that. Most people are the latter.
Do i believe scarcity is at least partially meeting it’s goals? Yes. As per dev blogs. Please read the dev blogs.
Do i believe the industry changes are making big groups/rich people change their doctrines? I don’t know. It only happened one month ago. But the amount of whining suggests it is.
Well on that we agree. CCP have focused on choking supply and i think they should have gutted hi-sec safety. And rather than ‘scarcity’ we could have a ‘purge’.
Well, lowsec has been buffed. The DBS has increased bounties in pretty much every system and having a monopoly on nocxium has made their anoms more lucrative in a venture than high-sec or in an exhumer.
Yeah it may. Fingers crossed CCP hold fast unlike they did with blackout.
Players that quit over scarcity want an unhealthy game. In the long run; maybe they shouldn’t be here.
I have no reason to believe they are being dishonest about their objectives or intent behind scarcity.
Scarcity of some form is something I’ve been asking for since the MER showed production was triple destruction month after month some 6-7 years ago.
Exactly. They hammer us with negativity and then complain when we come on the forum and spew negativity.
HEY! CCP!! Ya want us to be positive? Then give us POSITIVITY in the game!
Of course it has, CCP’s undeclared outcome is to cripple the mega alliances. Only problem is, does Eve have the staying power it will take to see it through. Very few nulsec players don’t have a presence in other parts of space, so while income has been all but deleted from one part of New Eden the rest is still available.
Sorry but right there is your problem. CCP isn’t going to announce that their plan is not meeting projected goals, in fact I don’t think CCP even know what they expected.
CCP has spent 18 years underestimating players ability to thrive and surpass limits. Nothing new to see here.
Wait a few months, player count right now is at its lowest for this time of year since 2006. 2021 peak season is fast approaching.
Go fly around in lowsec, not just the popular areas and see for yourself just how many EMPTY systems there are. Unless the nul groups decide to plunder lowsec, nothing changes, it is still an area of space that is not worth the extra effort to farm. Totally bored, I did 5 lvl 5 missions yesterday and and over the 3 systems I did them (14 jumps in total), I saw nobody
Not necessarily, some of those leaving just don’t want Eve to be a second job you pay to do. I’ve unsubbed and will be extracting then biomassing 13 characters. If and when I burn through my isk/assets I will look at the game and see if it’s worth spending money on. Right now, it isn’t which is why those leaving are leaving.
There was a lot of players, myself included that spoke out against the changes that led to todays screwed up economy. Like they did back then CCP will do what they want regardless. CCP made changes that created the ability for mega groups to become all but invulnerable and dominate. All they are doing now is trying to find a fix for their lack of foresight and poor development.
So NO I don’ believe CCP is being honest at all in how they’re handling this.
Actually I belong to a rather small group of around 200 with no blues.
I would gladly surrender all my isk and assets if CCP found the courage to actually FIX the mess they created. I don’t believe those at CCP are stupid, which is why the “fixes” needed have not been implimented.
You misunderstand. What their goals were and what they expected is in the dev blogs. The evidence that they’ve met some of those goals is apparent in the MER (lower production), game changes (DBS/ESS nullification and afk cloaking) and whining (losses become more meaningful).
EVE is no more a second job than it already was. All gameplay is pretty much the same. What these people are complaining about is not being able to fly as much bling or capitals…which was the point. They are the cancer CCP are trying to kill.
They can fly cheaper. But they don’t want to because they want an unhealthy game.
Yep production is down but funnily enough destruction remains about the same. Oh and FYI as Delve was among the highest production areas for a long time and it’s been all but destroyed has more to do with player actions than ANYTHING CCP have done.
Seriously, you’ve never been to nulsec?
DBS/ESS - Nulsec ratting was shite way before these changes. Why go ratting in Nul when an alt in highsec can make more in relative safety.
Nullification and AFK cloaking - Just how do YOU see this as being bad for Nulsec crabbing?
Just who is whining about losses being more meaningful?
Oh and in case you hadn’t noticed, ship losses in nulsec are so low they would hardly appear on a graph.
The ONLY thing nulsec players are “whining” about is the overall lack of content.
Major alliances are still for the most part offering 100% SRP. If as you state “losses become more meaningful” I hope I live long enough to see it happen.
Right now I believe the hiatus in nulsec is down to leadership working out new cheaper doctrines which will help continue the stalemate with CCP even longer.
Statistics are a wonderful thing, so easy to show exactly what you want others to know.
Sometimes I wish I were more like you and still had faith in Anything CCP does or says. Years of watching CCP fail time after time wears one down and eventually you just don’t believe anymore.
