What do you miss about Eve that is now gone?

My 16 friends.
I taught them how to play, and they all AFKed.

triglavian invasion was a bold move

Fixed

it dosn’t make you smart changing people words that fit your view

I can create narrative that against My view also.. :slightly_smiling_face: That will be fun..

You’ll argue with yourself? Maybe you could set up two characters each with a different chatGPT to automate the process. Then let them loose on each other and see who wins the argument.

Being able to complete the portrait during character creation instead of making a character and then seeing it’s not what it looked like in the CC. And having to wait 10 hours to try again for a character that has trained no kills and is 1 second old. It’s ridiculous.

Be nice to be able to see how they’ll look in the Character Sheet too seeing as you’re forced to see it and all.

They need a forum version of HTFU…

I started playing eve in 2007 and always miss the sound the warp disruptor made, That Wob Wob, Wob Wob sound., And my old corp mates and Circle Of Two alliance with gigX and all the Serbians up in Venal.

I miss the ship burning and smoking when it went into hull. The current thing feels lacking. It’s also wonky in that it changes on session change (upon jumping, docking, etc.) It makes it feel cheap. It lacks gravitas.

Efficient GUI (in terms of time to get task completed using the GUI).

Non laggy GUI (efficient in terms of computer resources spend and response time, ie from clicking a button, til new window is opened, completely rendered and all buttons active and ready to be clicked on).

Cool GUI. Monochrome belong in 1970ies and earlier - unless specifically chosen by the user. And no a few sharply coloured malfunctioning alerts doesn’t make a cool coloured GUI.

Captains Quarters.

The true MMO experience, where you just log in, fly around a little and then play with the you run into - whom you possible never met before. (Opposed to the play with a small fixed group where you need to arrange timings and never positively interact with someone new, which Eve is turning into with forced null sec play in blocs.).

Consistent game.Fx:

  • Ships not being fundamentally changed faster than you finish training them.
  • Ores / LP store contents etc not being constantly changed for devs to micromanage market.
  • Eve space is Eve space, no weird “Well here you can’t cloak”, “here you can’t warp” etc. I know missions always had the deadspace, but that seems an error to begin with, not something that should be enhanced, as people said when I was new “PvE in Eve was never really done, the game was nearly ready then the devs realized ‘whoops we should have some PvE too’”. The shortcuts originally introduced in haste, has since been enhanced instead of fixed to bring up quality of gameplay.

Focus on MMO experience in game design, fx:

  • Number freedom. Ratting, missions and mining you can run any number you like, newer content is locked in numbers (mining number freedom has been reduced by changes to fleet boost, many people I talked to quit because of that one, there also seem to be a tendency for smaller m3 amounts in each mining site, further increasing number issues).
  • No timers. Without timers you can just pick up random people and explain anything needed as go on, with timers you need to 100% know before or don’t play. When you need to 100% know, you can only play with a small select group you know have already learned - which is the same experience as a small private hosted server, not an MMO.

API keys. ESI is just stupid to work with compared to jut feeding the programs the old API keys - not to mention security issues of SSO.

I miss the old school FC’s.

Less math, more brass!

I miss the forums being balanced. Most of the reasonable players have either quit Eve or stopped posting here.

Now it’s just a few radical people with a bunch of alts that dogpile any opposition.

Indeed. Most of those “EVE is dying!”, “Everything is bad!”, “We need to change XYZ!”, “Thisandthat ruins the game!” - Topic OPs are clearly alts. Some even proven. Disgusting!

Editing other’s text is childish.

I post on one character.
