It very well could happen, but CCP has been dropping huge sales on PLEX and MPTCs which both help to lower plex price. I dont know if CCP cares more about controlling plex price or making money but they seem to be happy to do what they are doing. This post hopefully explains what’s going on with plex prices:

The packs reduce plex pressure in several ways, The game time 3 months is included in the big pack. Sure the people buying this probably don’t plex much but it helps some. 1100 plex, the obvious part that increases plex volume. The low price probably gets people that don’t often buy plex to buy.
