Okay, highsec ganking isn’t in the best spot right now. It has had some buffs (such as the T2 ammo buff and partial resist nerf) since you left, but has also suffered a series of nerfs (mining barge changes, partial rollback of the resist nerf, battleship tank buff). Moreover, there is a huge push right now to nuke the play style, and CCP appears to be providing their own justifications. Used to be ship destruction was the magic moment, and they called the idea that ganking was causing newbros to quit a myth. Nowadays they’re “very worried” about newbro griefing, and making ridiculous slides that look like they were authored by a nerf-ganker that wants permanent green safeties in HS.
Now, all is not lost yet, but I am greatly concerned for the state of ganking, and for UPvP and what little challenge is left in this game. CCP seems to be inching more and more towards a “westworld” style game where players aren’t in any real danger and can’t lose.
And now for the really bad news… I don’t have any good answers on how to fix things. In fact, I’m trying to figure this one out right now. However, I also figure that the less gankers that are around, the less incentive CCP will have to not nuke this play style in order to cater to the army of whinebears that want to turn this into a kiddy pool of a game. So, I do hope that you stay, and that you do what you can to fight against it.
The writing has been on the wall for a long time now. CCP used to brag about its player demographics, but you don’t hear a peep about it now. They drove those players out and now they have the replacements.
Thanks, that is exactly what I wanted to know. But this is very weird turn of event, in 2018 they even added these annoying trigs who were harassing miners and new players even more than gankers.
Unlikely, I am bittervet, I hate the game. I don’t know why I play it, and since I am also this kind of player who sees what could have been improved and then excited goes into forums to propose his ideas only to realize that developers doesn’t give a sh*t, then proceeds to leave in disappointment.
I mean I knew immediately when I reinstalled and started the game. Nothing has changed besides less players. Gameplay is awful, no matter what you do, you spend 90% of time staring on an empty screen where nothing is happening. That is the main reason ppls quit, this isn’t free2play game and even if it was spending half a hour to jump 10 systems in battleship is nothing but padding with the only purpose to slow down players to achieve what they want to achieve.
But okay, one of mine suggestions from 2016 was actually implemented in past 4 years. And thats a different color for home station. They made this home icon instead but I like it. But they somehow forgot to also highlight station of corp HQ and stations with corp offices. This with also a possibility to directly warp onto corpses instead of needing to save their location and then warp to that location are the only things that were improved since 2018 as far as I can tell. And that is really sad…

You are contradicting yourself in like every second post. So if it is ganker, then he is expected to pay hundreds of euro or hundreds of billions of ISK so he can do his activity alone without help of another player.
But suddenly if it is just carebear, like Freighter pilot hauling bilions of loot, then it is unreasonable he can’t do that without perfect safety alone and you want to give him tools to screw gankers and to survive himself.
In free2play, you can obviously buy stuff so that the developers can keep the game going, but none of which you buy will give you advantage over other players.
That is about as wrong as you can get. Eve is a PvP game period, I support wars in hisec I think ganking is part of the game, but I want proper balance in hisec. Those people don’t want decent balance, and that is why they resort to personal attacks or misrepresenting my position which is what you just did.
You seem to think that you should be able to plex your accounts with the proceeds from miner ganking, that is just wrong headed.
And I am not calling for perfect safety, that is your imagination running wild there.
Nice calculation - you forgot to include the skill injectors you can make with 11 accounts after you have got to 5.5mill skill points. Roughly 90% of the cost of plexing an account, leaving you with 41 procurers per month as a nice challenging target. Which should take about 10 or so hours of game play.
Proper balance with ganking in hisec would only be available if there was an option to actually want to be a part of the aggressor.
Misrepresenting your position, apparently so and I had misjudged your past comments, your mission statement etc. The way it reads now is that you don’t want a capsuleer to have the option to pve only in New Eden? A see-saw has two sides and the position of the fulcrum determines the balance., there will always be an option to decide where a capsuleer sits along that see-saw.

Of course you can play without spending money ever since 2017, but freemium which is the bussiness model this game operates under is not the same as free2play which I meant.
In order to actually play the game and not just its demo, you need to pay monthly be it real money or lots of ingame money. In free2play you don’t have to, becase there is no premium or no omega or VIP. In free2pay you are only spending money when you feel to for usually cosmetic things or features.
Good example of these games are League of Legends and Path of Exile.
And even if we compare EVE to say Albion Online which is also operating under freemium model, what you get without paying in both these games is incomparable. From this point of view, EVE Online is pay2win game as it allows you to significantly improve your character and fly better ships over those who don’t pay. (And please don’t argument with “but you need knowhow and skill” that is certainly true but not relevant as it is not making my statement false.)
I don’t care that much about that, I play as Alpha as a form of protest and I can still get some fun in this game as I never really cared for carriers and t2 ships even when I was paying for this game with real money.

That being said, it was prooven that multiboxing is 100% free as the additional accounts will pay themselves with extracting skills, so my calculation is incorrect anyway, but that still doesn’t make you less idiot for writing this bs.
I recall using 13 x T1 cats to gank a Endurance Expedition Frigate & 11x T1 Cats to gank a Procurer Barge.
Same 11 also was used to gank a retriever, Then I became lazy and found it easy to just make them and sell the Cats.
