Either accept the risk and do the PvE or go do something safer instead. But this endless whining about how loss-averse farmers have to cope with anything less than perfect farming efficiency at any content they want to farm needs to stop.
Nope, try again. PvP = player vs. player. PvE = player vs. environment. It has nothing to do with whether or not your ships/items/etc are destroyed in combat, it’s about who the opposition is. Trading and industry are PvP because the opposition is other players, not NPCs. Combat PvE is PvE because the opposition is NPCs. See the difference?

That’s from the eve FAQ.
Eve has always been a pvp centric game. Pve in eve is a means to an end, to gather resources. But those resources are ultimately there to fund peoples pvp habits as well as create opportunities for pvp.
It’s obvious you’re new here friend, I’ve been in this game, on and off (currently OFF!), for 10 years. Many people have asked for what you’ve asked for, for longer than 10 years. We were promised;
DUST 514 Integration, WiS, Controling Colonies on Planets as “Demigods”, etc etc etc
All we ever get is “New” Rebalancing and Skins.

Not really because CCP would change it. The game would need to get items and ship durability, constant wearing off of stuff when in use, for economy to be in good shape. Crabbing would not stop. People dont play it only for PvP.
Well they don’t have to. But just because they don’t seek out pvp doesn’t mean it’s not the focus of the game. Maybe it’s not the focus of their game. But the governing principles of the game still apply.
They can’t ‘opt out’ of pvp without excluding themselves from hugely significant game features. Mining. Market. Hauling. Planetary interaction. Structures. Combat.
And the pve these ‘non-pvp’ players partake in, is designed to put them in the cross-hairs of pvp’rs.
They would have to change it to such a degree that it wouldn’t be EVE anymore. It would be X4 online…

The sad part here is that some REALLY believe the phrase ‘eve is a pvp game’ and repeat it desperately because it was that way 2004 but since then the world has turned and they deny the fact it has…
Statements like ‘2004 was the last time EVE was great’ and crap like that comes to mind and can be seen as an typical example of the mindset of those strange people by ‘normal’ people that actually are INTERESTED in the DEVELOPEMENT of this game and not just in cementing their own status ingame.
It’s sad to say but sooner or later those people will be lost for the game because they will ragequit because they cannot stand the ‘wow like’ changes CCP has to make to the game in order to survive…
