What is the game missing most

Yes… yes they can

You guys claim you now what’s best for eve, but the fact of the matter is that this game had its peak years ago and listening you people about what’s wrong with the game is the reason why you guys still have the issue of retaining new players. I know plenty of people who like this game, but don’t want to deal with people like you.

Then CCP goes on to change their game for your kind. that’s what pushes them over the edge. You guys make fun of the popular games, but WoW started dying when they started doing what CCP has been doing. Listening to the losers in their player base instead of actually creating new content. WoW will be around when Eve is gone and I don’t like that myself as I actually do enjoy playing the game, but not with people like you and the half of you go so far as to push people to quit. You guys read an article on another site that talks about eve and they might even mention something along the lines of people who don’t play eve are probably happier people, and the lot of you chuckle and never ask why.

Why don’t you share some insight? I’m curious to know what you think.

I’d love to know what you’re referring to.

Ccp have done more for your kind in the last 5-7 years. And look where that got us.

FIGHTING in stations would have been great.
But no.

I think a new keepstar. Suggest name is rorqstar or maybe goonstar. it needs:

Combat mode

  • structure transforms into a object that looks like a bee
  • doomsday is able to hit targets within a radius that includes other solar systems

Industrial mode

  • structure transforms into an object that looks like a different bee
  • doomsday is able to fully extract an asteroid belt within a radius that includes other solar systems

Special role bonuses

  • structure is able to fit a panick button which makes the structure invulnerable for 2 weeks. This button has a 15 minute cooldown
  • structure is able to be located at any range from other structures
  • structure can jump to cynos

Probably best to not let alphas fly it so it isnt abused.

This game needs to be merged with Second Life so we can get out and interact with others. We need the ability to dance and have sex AFK!

Sex is always good…and don’t forget boob physics and bouncing boobs…

Thanks for all comments  I don’t intend to push for any changes. I LIKE the game. And as I said, I am not an experienced player, so if there are other issues “that desperately need” correcting then why not, adress them first.

That said, there are things I would certainly welcome, and this is what my comment was about. Do not worry about “hot girl mechanic” if you don’t like the idea. But if this is true:

So when eve was originally designed it was fashioned as a ‘player run game’. The idea was that your interactions were almost entirely with other players and that made the ‘life’ in the game more immersive.

…then here is also a part of the problem, because it is not immersive at all. Unless someone thinks they really play with capsuleers, not real people

As I see it, one good side of EVE is that every player can choose the game style they will play. But for the game to be really immersive, it needs a good story. And no, there are no good stories. There are thing called storylines and story arcs in the game, but they have nothing to do with true storytelling. They are just missions. All good stories need CHARACTERS, and there are no characters in EVE. That is what I meant by complaining about “no life” in EVE. This is its greatest weakness and the difference between this game and others that SELL BETTER, or any other entertainment that matters out there.

And IF anybody should ever try to change that, then adding characters onboard ships or in the stations would be a great way to start. Small steps, as I said.

Of course you can always say that this is not what EVE is about, but again, for me, what EVE is about is choosing your own way to play, so why not have that option for something more immersive character-wise. Also, again, I admit I know very little about the issues that players face at a more advanced level, and yeah, probably they should be a priority.

Walk in Station is dead … Walk in Ships never was in question to get a thing …
i think it would be a wast of time … this game is about space and ships not a bar to meet people

I can’t believe I’m saying this, and it’s making me throw up a little in my throat, but Duro_Peripar is actually correct here.

I think you mean ‘have sex while dancing’ don’t you ? :stuck_out_tongue:

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Yes it’s true, WiS could never succeed or be used by more than a fraction of the player base, because it was never useful to begin with.

As @Merin_Ryskin pointed out earlier, WiS was partly developed to test out new, avatar/character technology for the ‘World of Darkness’ game CCP had acquired and was working on. It allowed them to simultaneously develop a new mechanism for a game in development, and hype a new feature for their existing game.

However, once they got as far as “welp, we got 3D, moving characters, now what do we do with them?” I’m pretty sure they looked blankly at each other and said “Huh?”.

Which might sound silly in other games, but makes perfect sense for EVE. There really was no meaningful purpose for 3D avatars in EVE. You can program a bar or a store in a station, but to do what? Talking to other players and shopping in the market is faster and more convenient with the existing interface. You could walk around inside your ships, but then they would have to design and implement interiors for all the ships, and again, there’s no reason to. There just wasn’t anything for this technology to do in EVE. Other than people having vague ideas about “we could make deals in bars and knife someone else in the back”, there wasn’t even a solid conceptual vision of where avatar rendering fit into EVE gameplay.

If you read non-CCP reports on how their corporate culture and design principles operate in reality, you can tell that “an embryonic idea that gets developed because it sounds cool and gets half-coded before they realize they have no idea where they were going with it, so they stick it in half-finished to show ‘Hey we done something!’ and then later yank it out or cancel it”, pretty much is the ‘CCP business model’.

That doesn’t mean that all these half-finished ideas should have been completed and jimmied into the game. It just means they need to learn how to project an idea through a full life-cycle before they start wasting development resources on it.

CCP bans accounts who trade in-game items or isk for real world money.
The plex / isk exchange limits the amount of real world money that can be made from selling isk or in-game items.

The appearance of a character is part of identity.

As far as games go, if they are for adult audience, making ties, telling stories, they involve that part. Doesnt have to be full frontal nudity. Witcher series is somewhat know for that. The same stuff will happen in cyberpunk 2077 they said.

What are those claims “we” seem to make. Could you present us a list.

The players are the characters!
