Maybe the purpose of life is to learn to let silly things goā¦ like wasting your life mining and instead start having fun. 
Maybe some people need help with learning that lesson. 
Valuable life lessons might hurt, even a lot, but that is for a good cause. Just ask @Iceacid_Frostpacker for his testimony on the subject.

No one can be happy all of the time.

Purpose? I dont know, but I know function that works good. Its primary function is to multiply. Viruses have that function too, even when they use other living cells to multiply, they are parasitic life.
I think you personally may be a kind of parasitic life that primary function is to take advantage of others.

I could with certain certainty identify you as a lifeform, but you have to know that parasites lose a lot of complexity in their form, and they cant live or multiply without host. So you should be thankfull for that what you take, to those from which you take. Else you would not exist, at least in such form.

To think that there is a purpose to our life is one of the most horrifying things if you think about it for a moment. It would mean that something created you as a tool or for a specific purpose to further their own goals.

you are not the only entity who has life so your point makes no sense?
for example the lab rats are being used to change or break a cycle afaik in most cases diseases so defining lifes purpose as to break a cycle seems to fit. same thing with the plant that breaks through cement or asphalt? there was no plants there previously but this plant broke that cycle! good plant? yes

Yeah its life has a purpose. It was created for this.
Thatās not the plants purpose, that just happens for no higher reason at all.
If you give your own life purpose that is completely fine. That is your free choice. If your life has an external purpose that means someone or something created you as a tool or for a specific task, which is absolutely horrifying.
