What makes EVE feel like a joke of a game to you

I don’t deny shuttle ganking happens, there’s a few characters that patrol the pipelines and gank shuttles/pods for laughs. And some gankers will be ganking a hauler and then try to target a small ship and try to kill that if they can. The second case is what appears to have happened to the OP, however it looks like they didn’t even lose their ship.

as for your friend, well there are reasons players say never use auto pilot. I pretty much always use an instawarping frigate with some buffer fit and manually click jump on every gate. Shuttles are also effectively insta warping, but have no buffer. If you have cheap implants or are outside the major pipes it’s fine to use a shuttle. If you are manually piloting it’s hard to lose one, however if you are on auto pilot you are a sitting duck for ~15 seconds per gate. I’d bet most of the time you don’t get ganked but some times you do and it’s the price you pay for being lazy.

Well, in the 10 years I’ve been playing this game I’ve had a dozen Suicide attempts done on me, some even done by 2 or more ships at the same time. All of those attempts failed. However in the first 5 years of playing this game I could fly my ship on autopilot all over high sec and rarely ever had suicide gank attempts done on me.

I’m pretty sure you’ve been playing this game longer than I have and can probably say the same thing. I didn’t see an increase in that type of game play until well after the Hulkageddon sprees ended. About 5 years or so ago is when players started saying don’t use autopilot for traveling in high sec. That’s also about the time when Bumping started making headlines.

This is a timely question given that the CSM elections are coming…

CSM = JOKE

(A joke i wish made me laugh instead of vomit. A joke I wish didnt constantly reinforce CCPs already biased game development strategy in favor of nullsec at the expense of game play everywhere else in EVE).

Have there been prominent hisec representatives running for CSM in the past?

Aryth mentioned being a proponent of hisec and especially of changes to wardec mechanics during the Summit, reasoning that a healthier hisec can benefit nullsec entities. It made me wonder if there had ever been a unified front supporting a candidate focused around hisec, and whether the very nature of hisec and its inhabitants (fractured, filled with competitive miners and traders, loners and rookies) would even allow for meaningful support of a hisec-forward candidate.

I have been playing for 5 years and true highsec candidates never get elected for the reasons you mentioned. The closest we get to a highsec candidate is fence-walker that at least isnt a mouthpiece for nullsec but the extent of their promises concerning highsec extend only to not voraciously seeking the complete and utter removal of highsec from the game.
