What price do you think is acceptable for omega?

I would sub for 4,99.99

So far the 15 a month is winning with 63%

My gas is going up in price. My food is going up in price, and it is pretty much everywhere. Electronics are going up in price. The cost of living is going up in price.

But what I make at work is going up too. And if what Iā€™m making is going up, I can imagine that what CCP employees are making might be going up too; certainly not down.

So do I bemoan a company whoā€™s main goal is to make money and is likely seeing wage increases for itā€™s employees to stay competitive and not lose talent to other companies? Especially when I donā€™t even have to pay real money for the game, I can earn the time in-game or just play for free?

No, I donā€™t. Sure Iā€™m going to cut back on two accounts, but Iā€™ll be honest, Iā€™m not really using them for much anyways and Iā€™ll probably resub them when plex sales come around and I can get good deals.

I like your point, because itā€™s ON POINT.

Why should I care, when the talents being paid are not working on EVE? I cannot care less for another FPS or M5.

The talents at Iceland, well they not going anywhere. And I donā€™t say this lightly, CCP really assured me their work is subpar (Like the failure in login with alphas). I would hate myself for being unethical.

So, back at you, why should I pay? Not that Iā€™m going to, just making conversation.

I gonna even try and reach for some unsee CCP plan to reduce the amount of PLEX on the market, but Iā€™m not sure this is not wishful thinking, my inner self screams ā€œDESPERATIONā€.

Anyway this is it, EVE and SC are in their final moments, they either win or ā€œtheyā€™re going down baaaaaaaaadā€. And my bets are in SC to be very honest, if server mesh comes, Iā€™m outta here for good.

Just having a war eligibility requirement would be enough.

I think this poll is skewed, I can only choose less then ā‚¬20 , not moreā€¦

Sidenote: I pay only ~ā‚¬11,30/month with a two year subscription.

As a new player back in 2014, I bought annual subscriptions when CCP put them on sale for $99 USD. By the time they stopped offering that promotion, I had learned how to earn enough ISK to pay for my subscription using PLEX. Iā€™m not opposed to giving CCP money - I get good entertainment value out of the game and want the company to be financially successful so they can continue developing it, but they have given me the tools to play the game the way I want without using real world money, so Iā€™ll take advantage of that as long as I can!

This is the successful mindset right here. I am right with you. I donā€™t mind giving CCP RL money, but I like having a goal in EVE. Drives me to earn my monthly bill and make some more. Then spending it wisely on fun ships and bling. I FEEL the people with the means to make enough ISK to plex do this vs spending money. From the simple abyss runner to incursions to literally any high value activity when you make 2-100+bil a month. Why not plex? Save your own money for something else!

Omega currently costs me Ā£10 a month for one account which after the rise will be Ā£12.50 a month. Given that I already spend Ā£30 a month on another MMO that I am cutting down on, thereā€™s no real ā€˜increaseā€™ for me. My partner spends more on chocolate buttons every month than I spend on gamingā€¦so I know where to start with cutting things back :slight_smile:

I would still gladly pay $30 USD per month for EVE. Even now at $20 USD, thatā€™s only two hours worth of work at a low-end job in exchange for 672 hours of entertainment. Youā€™ll spend more eating at a fast food place or Starbucks than an EVE subscription costsā€¦

I took down my POS yesterday as I am moving.

Good evening,

The fair price of an online game by monthly subscription must only meet a determined number of concurrent needs; here, these needs are both those of CCP and its customers:

1- on the CCP side, the maintenance of the EvE Online servers and the development of New Eden content, if indeed real technological developments are already planned by the CCP Staff for the months to come; for example: ship maneuverability, compliance with the laws of physics in space, etc. ; surprise us;

2- on the customer side, in addition to the passion and pleasure of the game, the possibility for them to be able to choose between free access through ALPHA clones, or access to more options available for their characters through OMEGA clones, all at a price that is both reasonable and controlledā€¦

Q. You should also know that in the world of online games with in-app purchases, only 0.5% of players will sooner or later go through the purchase box; this is a well-known economic reality, but it is also a so-called win/win marketing approachā€¦

Now, how can CCP set their fair price without causing the legitimate outcry of the past few weeks, or even the likely avalanche of defections to come?

It is very simple !

CCP must proceed quite differently by meeting the expectations of all existing wallets! How ? To answer this question, I will allow myself the following suggestions for the attention of CCP Staff who should, in my opinion, think about it, because it is high time for them to accept the fact that they will have to ship some goodies in order to satisfy the passion and pleasure of their biggest fans, especially if they really want to earn that much money!

a- basic license for access to the OMEGA clone at the reasonable symbolic price of 9$99 or 9ā‚¬99 per month (and here, the exchange rate doesnā€™t matter since what matters most to the customer is well the psychological figure that is read on his invoice);

b- apply the usual reduction rates according to the number of months of subscription taken out at one time;

c- luxury pack for access to the OMEGA clone for one month + an ArtBook of New Eden in A4 format, all at the price of 39$99 or 39ā‚¬99 for example;

d- strategistā€™s pack for access to the OMEGA clone for one month + a board game of EvE CONQUESTS, all at the price of 69$99 or 69ā‚¬99 for example;

e- capsulerā€™s pack for access to the OMEGA clone for one month + a fleece jacket from the faction of your choice (Gallente, Caldari, Amarr or Minmatar), all at the price of 99$99 or 99ā‚¬99 for example; and finally

f- collectorā€™s pack for one month access to the OMEGA clone + a NewEden ArtBook + a board game by EvE CONQUESTS + a signed New Eden poster in A2 format + a signed 40 cm resin sculpture of a battleship of your choice with a SKIN also of your choice (and here, the choices of the ship and the SKIN must be made when ordering the collectorā€™s pack), all at the price of 149$99 or 149ā‚¬99 for example ā€¦

Thatā€™s the idea!

Because it is indeed the only means available to CCP, namely: leaving the possibility to its customers to choose the price they want to put on it themselves, and this without ever breaking EvE Online through either a pay to win economic model implemented in defiance of the rules of the real strategy game and its childā€™s soul, or another anxiety-provoking advertising model! It also means having to give up injectors and PLEX, i.e. everything that has come to rot the game throughout the last decade, or conversely, opting outright for NFTs which have remained excluded from the game until now, all this, without forgetting perhaps the retro offer of EvE Online Classic in its 2003-2008 versionā€¦

Q. You will notice that in the model that I am suggesting, everyone can, if they wish, buy combinations of packs at their own pace; for example, first c-, then e-, or else first e-, then f-, etc., and if a player is satisfied only with the basic license for personal reasons, hey! well CCP will also have met this expectation while respecting at the same time, all those who have deliberately made the choice of free via the ALPHA clone, knowing that an ALPHA clone will always be a potential future OMEGA cloneā€¦

This is the idea located light years away from an authoritarian inflation of +33%; follow my thoughtā€¦

Marketing is not very rocket science, because you just have to listen to the hearts of your customers who above all identify fully with their passion, and so here at New Eden, thatā€™s allā€¦

So. Try To Fly Safe Again. Or not.

ps: so say, who is the real hero in all this? :face_with_monocle:

A person can easily spend Ā£30 - Ā£40 on a single player game that theyā€™ll play for 100 hours or less and then it gathers dust. If you spend 3 hours a day in Eve, that is 100 hours or so a monthā€¦and I get that month for Ā£12.50. Soā€¦looked at in that perspective Eve is a bargain.

true very true

A multi-account discount would be niceā€¦
