So, NASA has a preliminary conclussion on how (and maybe why) the little helicopter that could crashed on its 72nd and final flight…
Apparently got lost because the terrain was too bland and couldn’t track features, thus it attempted to make a point landing but suffered a brownout during it, hit the ground with too much horizontal velocity and the sudden jolt combined with the massive forces of their rotation made three blades snap from the maximum structural pressure point and a fourth one detached completely because of the imbalance.
