What would you do if you Couldn’t Gank?

Gankers are NPC”s that’s all they are.

We will see all…don’t whine if what i stated will go live…

It’s not your fault, it’s just that games have changed in the 21st century and fenris has to adapt the game to it…

War decs with the restriction that you can only use them against corps with structures are in an awful place. It made all the corps use “holding corps” so they’d only lose one refinery at a time and their members can crab at peace without needing to actually fleet up to fight back.

War decs as a mechanic are well-intentioned, but CCP has never implemented them appropriately. The first version was mainly used to seal club, then letting the defender bring in any number of allies led to dec shield which just broke the whole thing completely, then the current version with holding corps makes it just a logistical nightmare because you need to slap all the structures into holding corps so you’re only losing them one at a time, which the larger corps can easily afford to do because bashing structures all day is incredibly boring, and that’s pretty much all you’ll ever get to use a war dec for (sometimes you can dec Goons and catch a few newbees hauling stuff at Jita, I guess).

For the first type of wardeck, I’d simply always be in the NPC corp. If I wanted to go to Null Sec, I would. I just don’t like someone turning my High Sec ship into a Null Sec style kill just because I was in a corp that someone was able to war dec.

For the second, same thing applies except now I don’t moon mine. The whole point of High Sec’s lesser economy was because you had Concord safety. I’m not giving that up without a huge increase in economy. Moon mining doesn’t really pay for new structures when they get blown up every single week. It’s also why I don’t refine or do industry. Those require structures too.

That’s why I am not wardecable. The High Sec economy is too low for me to risk losing my ships.

Disclaimer due to idiots like Gerard:
In EVE Online, industrial engineering (manufacturing and invention) does not require you to own a player-built structure. You can use NPC stations, existing public Upwell structures, or lease slots from established corporations to completely bypass the costs, risks, and maintenance of owning one.

Methods Without Owning a Structure

  • NPC Stations: You can perform manufacturing, copying, and invention jobs at almost any standard NPC station in the game. You pay a small tax per job instead of fueling a private structure.

  • Public Structures: Many player corporations open their [Upwell Structures] (such as [Engineering Complexes]) for public use. You can access these via the structure browser to run jobs.

  • Structure Leasing: Some organizations offer direct access via shared roles and access lists, allowing you to rent industrial slots on their private engineering complexes.
Risks and Considerations of Not Owning One

  • Taxes: Using NPC stations or someone else’s Engineering Complexes incurs job fees that can eat into your profit margins. * Missing System Bonuses: Private engineering complexes built by players have specialized rigs that offer massive reductions in manufacturing time and material waste, which you miss out on at NPC stations.

  • War Declarations: If you decide to anchor your own structure later on, keep in mind that Upwell structures in high-security space can be attacked, making them a liability for smaller groups prone to war declarations.

You do not need to own or even build a personal structure (like an Athanor or Tatara) to refine your ores.

The game offers several alternative ways to process materials without the massive costs, maintenance, and war risks associated with owning player-made structures:

  • NPC Stations: Countless NPC stations across highsec, lowsec, and nullsec feature built-in reprocessing services. While these lack the yield bonuses of rigged player structures, they carry zero risk of being destroyed or wardecced.

  • Public Upwell Structures: Many player corporations open their public Athanor and Tatara refineries for anyone to use. You can find these easily by opening your Structure Browser (located under Utilities in your Neocom menu) and filtering for the Reprocessing Plant service.

  • Station Compression: If you have large quantities of ore, any station or structure with a reprocessing facility can also compress your ore for free, reducing its volume so you can easily haul it.

  • Refining in NPC Space: To avoid the taxes charged at player-owned stations, you can build up your NPC Corporation Standings. Getting your standings to 6.67 or higher removes the standard reprocessing fee entirely, meaning you keep 100% of the minerals your skills allow.

But refining and engineering without structures is not worth my time and money.

^ Great synopsis!

You have never showed where you are getting this information. Everything that I have seen does not support anything you have posted. I am going with a care bears wishful thinking. Unless of course you will show where this information is from.

You should change the OP title to:

What will you do when you can no longer Gank?

There was a time when small merc corps could afford to wd the null blks. There was no ganking to speak of then because there were bigger fish to fry.

Back in late 08, in one of the corps i had joined…thinking i would i enjoy null sec life ( i didnt )

…we would on a consistent rate hire small merc corps to aid us in controlling and policing the small space we were living in. I came to grow a close relationship to some of the guys and hired them for several jobs all the time. These small merc corps were mostly scottish folks ( god what a crazy bunch of people they are ) and they didnt care what they did or where they had to go to do it.

Great times those were. I still remember hearing those guys talk amongst themselves in ventrillo ( what we used back then ) in their scottsih accents and blowing people up.

Id pay money to have those days back.

I can bring those days back, for a price…

Seriously though you should be ashamed for your actions.

Your actions have been proven wrong and that is why we have a safe highsec space now.

WAKE UP you Witch!

The new Manifest system safety green seems like it still has that taste of dish soap to some gankers.

Two things:

  1. I’d encourage/help all gankers to level up. Move on to real PvP, to test their skills.
  2. redefine ganking. think it through. Surely there must be ways to keep on ganking. Ideally without input broadcasting - which is a form of laziness. Love it or hate it. Put real people/players instead of those IB alts.

yes, ready for the incoming hate

Can you teach me to PvP without input broadcasting on alphas?

Hit you up IRL.

I knew I would not like it but got talked into it twice. Both times left a bad taste in my mouth.

We had one British guy with a peculiar accent that even other Brit’s had a hard time understanding! Another German member worked in that area and would interpret for us. I could never get over the irony of a German interpreting English for the English!

Good times indeed!

I also tried real nulsec

It feels great but way too much asset safety and re-buying new ship stock just to have ready .

I don’t know what else is more scary.

Actually having to have to fight someone like me?
