They shouldn’t have even made it close to the carrier. They should have been obliterated in seconds if this game had any realism.
If the game had any realism the Carrier would have had supporting ships around it to ensure the frigates couldn’t get close.
That kill was a solo Carrier who decided to fit zero defences.
While carriers do have support in real life, the carrier itself has its own defenses against incoming attacks and aircraft and can certainly defend itself against 3 small ships. No carrier in real life needs help to blow up 3 small aircraft. It has several built in defenses.
EVE shouldn’t take inspiration from Star Wars, Star Wars sucks.
As do carriers, as it happens. Yeah they probably should be buffed, but SBs are one of the few subcap ship classes that should be a big danger to a carrier.
Which proves what I said earlier. ![]()
- 3 wings of 12 fighters, 1 wing of 3 support.
39 fighters have no ability to warp after the bombers, even though fighters can and do warp. Fighters do not intercept or shoot at the incoming bombs. There isnt even a hard point to put defender missiles on a carrier.
Carriers are strategic assets worth more than multiple countries irl if you were to convert real economy to video game economy. Probably worth more than the entire planet of earth. Yet due to game mechanics and some form of balance I do not understand, they are just loot boxes.
I don’t think anybody but the designers understand to be honest.

spinning through other games before an eventual return?
Taking a year off…
the question you have to be asking yourself is, what are you getting from eve that you need to replace?
I’m an 06 player who has come to understand that eve is no longer about the community development that it was 20 years ago.
So i myself am looking for a game that supports the health and wellbeing of it’s community.
This thread, abridged: what is the alternative to playing EVE? Talking about how bad EVE is in general and how bad at playing it are other players…
Computers are unreliable. Space stations are destructible. Physical copies are the surest way to keep information intact – in-game, and in real life. Provided you don’t put your BPOs into a shuttle and fly them through Uedama, or low sec, or anywhere equivalent.
I can store a clone of myself in a station and instantly send my entire consciousness, thoughts, and memories from 50 solar systems away with zero loss.
But I can’t store a blueprint? I’m going to need more justification than, “A computer drive may fail somewhere.”
I understand that the devs make the rules. I accept that. I just don’t agree with this one. It’s fine- I don’t mind. But it simply doesn’t make sense.
You’d be hard pressed to find a player who likes everything in this EVE universe.
I like physical property and I would object to BPOs becoming some type of a code that you just remotely access. They should be physical objects that you can move around, and that can be destroyed. The system is fine as it is. Doesn’t need any changing.
