A year ago tritanium was at 5 - it’s more work to harvest but you’re getting paid twice as much. Working as intended.

That tells me you are looking for ore next to Jita or one of the other major trade hubs. There are hundreds of untouched belts in highsec if you get away from the trade hubs. Every day I shoot a few belt rats for the free SP and see sights like this:
