Truth is, CCP is headed by a npc. That’s why some of the changes can be seen with correlation irl. One would be better off influencing them through a newspaper or magazine than as a paying customer.
And if you’re really committed to the industry side of things, I would start harvesting all these various materials and a stockpiling them for when the production chains get in track again.
Maybe don’t invest in any new production, just stockpile. You’ll be rich when all the other producers finally come around and need to buy materials.
When will EVE become fun again? I honestly don’t think so. EVE reminds me of a local chain bar/restaurant that cannot understand why their customer base is shrinking? People come into bars and MMO’s to lose themselves for the moment. Most people want to get away from all their bosses in their real life. Eve has decided. After prompting from the mega alliances and their CSM mouth pieces. To force small solo players/ small 2 to 3 person corporations to join the aforementioned mega alliances! Just really what I do not want to do after being bossed around all day is to be bossed around by some 20 year! Until CCP understands most players are solo adventurers who want to see stuff blow up. Scarcity and Triglavians really crippled my solo High Security enjoyment of EVE Online. Hence my cash payment to EVE ONLINE is now a scarcity item too! Missions became so stale and static it is not even funny. The elimination of ORES in HS and snoms was too much! I tapped out after 11 years! EVE needs to make missioning fun and semi risky again. Missions to improve should very rarely escalate like anoms! Put in some rare ore/ WH to null, Have a wormhole pop up and have a Level 4 suddenly turn into a Level 5/6/or even 7. ( The bad guys retaliate!) If the brain trust at EVE would have spent 25% of the energy put into Walking in Stations, Dust 514, Valkyrie the world of darkness connection. Missions would have been awesome. Hey? Here is an idea. If a mission would suddenly spawn into a LEVEL 5 6 7 and beyond the missioner would have to invite other players. I agree silent quiet players are usually not long term players. Remember EVE ONLINE Einstein’s scientific definition of insanity. Do the same things. The same way. We the same materials. Expect different results.
This is a great idea, but the problem is that there are many customers requesting many things. I doubt if there is a lot of consensus on what the game needs. And indeed, some of the things people want, or think they want, may not even be practical or possible. Eve players can be very unreasonable.
Well most players agree that corp or alliance or coalition skins would be great to have in game.
Most players have also asked for CCP to end the war on players. (AKA Scarcity)
I personally would love to see a REAL ECONOMICS department with experienced and well educated people. That would benefit all players.
A road map or any news out of the PR department and CCP telling the players when Devs are on programs/streams/videos/magazine. I keep having to hunt for info about the game to see if it worth playing again.
There is a ‘real’ economics department in many real countries. They screw ■■■■ up beyond belief.
Scarcity will be good for everyone if you can just stop freaking out, stockpile materials and put yourself in a good position for when things settle down.
After one week of holiday break I logged in and played EVE. Now I can confirm you, that EVE is fun again.
Mission accomplished!
you need to remember EvE shifted its market focus a lot of the changes aren’t “fun” for many of the people who originally thought EvE was ‘fun’ but that’s because these changes aren’t being made with them in mind.
To answer the question in this thread, probably when you discover Faction Wars and learn the joy of solo PVP in T1 frigates.
I pretty much agree with @Jesoph_Swolin. I’m playing the game more or less 10 years now. I used to play in high sec, lowsec, WH, industry, big nullsec alliance, etc. BUT I found my playstyle and fun in Faction Warfare. Great people, fun actions, no mandatory stuff.
Sometimes annoying that it isn’t as organized as let’s say a big nullsec corp/alliance. But overall that is what keeps me playing EVE.
Unironically this.
So Eve will never be fun again.
What a shame.
Sometimes, a change of scenery can make all the difference!
I used to FC novice-capable kitchen sinks from a nano Griffin and frankly I like solo more. The enemy crying about reporting me for hacking is much nicer than allies yelling about a T1 dessie loss.
That being said, Solo FW is something anyone can do in a 5m ISK frigate staged from a highsec NPC station. It generates income in the form of LP. Implants are 50% off. I fly what I want, when I want to and have fun doing it. Can’t think of anything more in line with the original post.
Very nostagic game I must agree.

You make a good point. Lots of stuff was added, some on request even, but these elements can distract from the core game play anyone can and should get involved in: fleet up with a friend and go blow stuff up. Nothing beats that in terms of fun, if you make it challenging enough.
I think you also gotta be the Hiro Proantagonist of your own story too. Like one of the dudes mentioned above, I went ninja huffing for lulz and had to use every skill I had in order to make it back alive to sell 2mil worth of gas.
Best 2 hours I’ve had since I’ve came back. Gotta make your own fun son.
I’ve found it fun to go out highsec mining, jump on comms, and talk with my fleet. Tonight we each made 20 mil, got to watch a ganker get graped by CONCORD (he attacked my Retriever in 0.5 space), taught our newbros some basics, and relaxed. It’s not everyone’s ideas of fun, but it works for us.
See, I dig this. You’re out doing what you think is fun, but you’re not demanding that hisec be made safe.
I used to loathe PvP with a passion, but it’s grown on me. I’d still rather do industry, but a good scrap here and there with another player is entertaining. Win or lose, I usually have fun and learn something.
A few weeks ago I got murdered in nullsec, and talked to my killer. He told me what I did wrong, then gave me 250m (far above what I lost) and said “Welcome to EVE.”
