I was visiting some old subscriptions on Youtube and basically housecleaning them. I then noticed a lot of the Eve Online YT channels are focused elsewhere on other games or stopped making videos for Eve Online altogether. Such as this one;
I know it is probably an AI voice over, but I enjoy the tutorials. I know one of the YT channels got in hot water with a debate over a contest being RMT or not, but the knuckle head is still active each day. Many people wonder, if he gets paid a salary by Fenris now.
Others like Captain Benzie has stopped making new videos about 11 months ago? Nothing new to say? I don’t know, this is why I am asking here.
What happened to the game about 11 or 12 months ago to make so many popular Youtubers just stop? Was it something related to Youtube or was it something about monetization of the videos or something changed so radically in the game, but I completely missed it? Maybe you know something I don’t.
If you do know them, or maybe you are one of these Youtubers, I am not dumping you in the dirt. This old woman has a bad habit of subscriber hoarding. I see Aceface made a new video 6 days ago, he is one of my favorites. I better go watch it.
Looks like they gave up around the last year release. Also the first one was a member of Pademic Horde which no longer exists in the game. I see Capt Benzie was a member of Eve Scouts or something like that a few years ago. Then his character dropped into a NPC corp and hasn’t been active since 2025.
Catalyst was released on November 18, 2025. If all the dates are exactly 11 months, it would seem they didn’t care much for the changes in the expansion. That is the one that changed a lot about mining and introduce the Pioneer ship. I recall you were upset about the changes to the mining equipment yourself at that time. By the way, did you ever sell off your Rokh or still using it to mine without the scanner?
There are still loads of EVE Youtube channels. Even using a filter to restrict a search for ‘Eve Online’ to just this week…I find page after page of Videos. I scrolled through several hundred just in the past week.
Captain Benzie has always been one of my favourites. He has great videos on how to do stuff in EVE. Another good one is Ashterothi. Loru can be good…though I am one of those who find his style a bit grating…but he delivers the goods in terms of explaining things.
Another channel I’ve regularly watched is The Meta Show. I like the characters…especially Brisc Rubal.
With all these sites, I don’t care about in-game politics…its knowledge and information that matters.
I wasn’t in that frame of mind, just the ones I have subscribed seems to have this 11 month pattern. I wasn’t saying all were affected by whatever factor was at work here.
Now that John mentioned it – Catalyst November 2025 – could have been a deciding factor. I did get upset about them removing scanning from other ships, it felt like they are telling us to only mine in mining vessles and the game is no longer sandbox. @John_Rochard yes my Rokh is in the hangar, seldom use it with the price drop on kernite down half the price it use to be. I can still mine faster in the Rokh, it just can’t see the quanity remaining in the asteroid.
@Lydra_Victor and @Meridan_Night
If they are having financial concerns, I am sorry to hear it. With the global events as they are, it won’t be getting better anytime soon. I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers.
Also Delonewolf hasn’t been on for 3 years. That is a very long break.
Thanks for all the input on this subject.
Yes, I much prefere the calm demeanor of Aceface. We use to call people like Loru a spaz in school. It is like the man has too much cafine or not enough Ritalin in him.
