That’s what they did for ultima online and it soon died after.
The economy is a constant rotation that relies on both production and destruction driving the cogs. Destruction gives value to production and vice versa.
‘Pve is driven by pvp is driven by pve…’
You cannot have a player driven sandbox and a player driven economy without open pvp. It’d quickly turn to ■■■■ like ultima online.
If you REALLY want to play without pvp, play on the test server. But you lose the sandbox and you lose the economy. No you can’t have it both ways.
Just one point of disagreement: it doesn’t sound like you’re a pathetic carebear. Carebear and industrial player are not the same thing. An industrial player does mining/manufacturing/etc and tries to win there, accepting the risks of life in EVE and defeating them. A carebear does only PvP and whines and cries about how anything (like PvP) that interrupts their ability to farm ISK at maximum efficiency is unacceptable and CCP needs to give them safe space where they can level up their Raven and pretend to succeed at life.
Sure, you can have your EVE safe space, just as long as nothing you do in that safe space can ever be exported out of it, and nothing imported into it from the outside. Absolutely no way to impact the economy or gameplay outside of it. No? Didn’t think so. Go back to WoW…
Surprising how many people don’t realize “Eve” is actually an acronym.
You know, PvP means “player vs player”, and PvE means “player vs environment”. And EvE means “everyone vs everyone.”
The only safe place in Eve is docked inside a station. Once you undock, you are accepting the fact that someone could potentially kill you and take your stuff. Even in the heart of a 1.0 system, you aren’t “safe”, you’re just guaranteed to be avenged for a senseless killing.
No, we absolutely do not need safe spaces. What we need is for sissies to either grow a pair, or stop playing. Your privacy is going to be violated. Your ship’s integrity is going to be violated. Everything is working as intended. Move along.
