Smuggling involves moving the ore which you stated never happens. So how can you have such a warped idea on how this game works?

Generally those would be the T2 ships, as those produce the elite ship wrecks. The Gnosis is not such a ship (AFAIK). 
And what systems is, ore illegal, and requires smuggling? Please, do show me.
Now, if you’re busting gate camps with a blockade runner, that’s not really smuggling as the cargo is not contraband. Just protecting it from mean pirates.

Even in general smuggling means getting contraband through without being caught and in EVE it has very specific mechanics related to it in the form of Customs Officer NPCs on gates.

Actually, I have loads of T2 ships…just need the confidence to use them. The Gnosis is handy for learning stuff and fittings. The log for my latest loss taught me I need to fit stasis webifiers as despite having tracking of 40 my neutron blasters never once hit the Punisher. Those are lessons I’d rather learn in a cheap ship.
