A shame, we would never know if he was supposed to be the next James…

I guess people are steering crap all around, OP got hurt and disappointed, was he right? NO. Is EVE brutal to the new player? Hell yeah.

I guess my best contribution here is: Why new players always look for Mining and/or Mission? And some go krabbing?

Because CCP confuses grief with PvP and because PLEX idea is too STRONG to resist. We know he had zero chances against guristas in a fresh trained Raven, he would prob forget/do not know to fit a MJD.

Now, now, let’s ask ourselves why people don’t jump into the game and go FW?

Simple answer to be honest, instead of calling everybody a carebear dare to look into the problem.

You new, you got some noob ships, you play a game ship go boom, YOU NEED A SHIP TO MAKE ISK, you start to think you gonna make lots of isk and PLEX, you look at internet the “SAFE” ways to do it.

How many years people are asking for FW revamp?

The game pushes the player to the PvE man, there’s no reward playing without ‘safety’ unless you come with deep pockets.

I can only hope these new Data Scientists to put something into game director brain. The only new people saved are the people recruited by corps. If you tell people to adapt or die, expect the majority to die.

Wendy’s? Yeah, I like it too but the meat is flat. Wendy’s is good for the fresh veggies.
Perfect fast food meal:
Burger from BK
Veggies from Wendy’s
Fries from McD’s and
Drink from Taco Bell

Because the game pushes new players into those activities from the very second they’re born.

As sure as ■■■■ stinks I can tell you that if there was a genuine PvP component thrown into the tutorial (and the tutorial itself extended beyond the Aura phase and 5 career agents that can be completed in an hour), then a considerably higher percentage of players would be accepting of the game’s system of player interaction after graduating. And we have historical proof for this being a solid concept, as groups such as RvB and training wings of major null groups, which push their players to see the entire game right off the bat, see vastly improved retention rates.
