Gankers are opportunists. Though they may go on a roam covering a dozen systems, they are not gonna travel or scout that far just to find you in particular…unless you happen to be in some particularly juicy ship. Generally they either stay in areas where they know there are easy pickings ( Uedama, Isanamo, etc ) or they go on a dozen system roam hoping to catch people by surprise. But nobody’s saying ’ hey…Roxana is in a system 30 jumps away, lets all fleet up and go there '.
I remember once Cilly sat in Uedama hoping someone would care.

I think while you have understood the issue with AG in terms of most people not even bothering to save themselves, you have not understood the reason to still AG despite this, and that is because quite simply the gankers are even worse carebears then the people they prey upon. Think about it…
As was said in another thread, the “GANKED” tag is not a good estimate for how many ganks have happened because it is badly coded and majority of ganks doesn’t get this tag. Only ganks with 5+ attackers and at least one of them posting a loss to CONCORD will be flagged this way.
Furthermore many gankers, stopped posting their kills in a response to antigankers emaling their victims for killrights. Action and reaction.
No so, the number is much higher than that. I also thought that ganking is in demise when I came back because I was looking at the killboard “GANKED”, but in reality, the amount of ganks didn’t drop that much from 3 years ago.
To get real number of ganks you need to know all the gank corps and alliances and check their killboard specifically. For monthy you can use Stats page.
And idk, to me 600 bilions destroyed in June by Safety. alone seems pretty much impactful. Add other alliances, solo gankers, and you are at 1 trillion. Is this really insignificant? Why do you think so?

You are forgetting one very important fact, the people getting ganked are usually the laziest of players, ones that don’t think of anti ganking fit’s or living where its slightly less convenient anyone you message will be too lazy to commit any effort to your cause.
More than other alliances, the assets we destroy are predominantly resource harvesters, and their destruction eliminates resources which would have been harvested. I suspect far more wealth is eliminated by forcing people to dock up and stop farming.

Vast majority of players dont know forums exist
its just a few like me that come and complain and all the gankers that come here and make sure the people that complain dont get listened by CCP
