Why is it so easy to recover bad security status. Endless suicide ganking in high sec with 0 penalty

uh what? .4 is low sec who cares what your sec status is there.

either shooting rats or buying tags is the current cost to get sec standings. what more do you want them to do?

lol no.. not when players can freely do that. if you wanna mine, you have 30 days in a safety net of space to learn how to mine. aside from that, join a corp and see if people will sit and watch you min to keep you safe.

lol. no.. you already have to set safety to red, and if your bombs hit someone, you get concordokken in hisec.. and lose sec status…

Was a typo, thanks for pointing that out, meant to say .6 just fixed

It’s way too easy, I’m ex -10 pilot on my “Roman” Account it’s need to be much more tougher.
We never griefed it was beneath us, took no skill and ruined our rep. What satisfaction is there in killing low lvl in mining ship?
We ganked players if we thought there was profit, not newbs mining big difference

You are missing the point and there is no 30 day safety net where you get that from?
If you were really a PVP’r you would not be attacking newer players in hi-sec it’s Griefing nothing more and killing our player base, it has always bleed players.
People have options they don’t tolerate it anymore they just quit.
If you cared about the future of the game you wouldn’t do it
Also there is no skill involved, it’s cheap and Toxic nothing more. unless you that insecure which in itself is more toxic

You have offered nothing constructive out side of “Nuh Uh”

every new player has 30 days in rookie systems to learn as much as possible. they are free from griefing. ganking is not the same as griefing.

smartbombs have their consequences if they hit another ship in high sec… as i said safety has to be set to red to use them, and if a ship is hit, concord attacks you and destroys your ship.

Yeah, like the lazy quitting. I started in 08 and the numbers were growing till 14.

CCP gave the game to the weak who have cc’s. Cash grab. Answers your statement about why the game is on life support.

If you volunteer to be a sheep in a game where there is always a butcher shop close by, then I dont know what to tell you…

My alliance has a standing rule that only players under 30 days are valid targets.

You are totally wrong. EVE is not on life support. You numbers are out of thin air without any foundation. You need to consider timezones and even the distribution within. Also your average is wrong. We are at about 28k average and average is just average, not total. It is as healthy as ever and hast just been confirmed in an interview with CCP Burger about 4 days ago. It is linked in thread in the Communications Center.

Why is it so easy to recover bad security status? Paying real money in the form of PLEX that are used to purchase tags is my best guess.

It costs about 500 million isk to repair -10 to I think close to zero or just under, July 2025 had repaired a naughty ganker pilot.

If you buy up all the tags, nobody will be able to gank!

The problem is that it’s an absurdly small amount of money needed to bribe them. Also kind of like irl I guess…

In the end, the tags are only a part of the problem. It is far too easy to bypass the actual downsides of having a low security rating. The only people who need to reset their status on a regular basis are the ones sitting on the undock at a market hub so they can shoot haulers, and then have a ninja alt immediately scoop and dock back up with the loot.

Absurdly small?

It is enough to make most newbie ships unprofitable gank targets.

And anyone who chooses to fly something more expensive hopefully has learned enough tricks to stay alive.

Going by what I see listed as Jita tag prices off a market website:

-10 to -8: Roughly 18~19 million for tags+fee.

-8 to -5: Roughly 37~38 million for tags+fee.

So from -10 to -5 is about 57 million, which puts them within walking distance of -4.95 to drop Outlaw status. Literal pocket change to utterly nullify the actual end penalty for their behavior.

-5 to -2: Roughly 254 million, which allows them to operate in 0.9 and below systems. A little bit of ratting to rise above -2 will allow them into 1.0 systems. More pricy, but not actually needed unless you plan on being active in highsec.

players set the prices on the market..
Plus after acquiring tags, they have to go to lowsec to turn them in.. or find the tags in lowsec.
ISK Cost: Turning them in requires paying an additional ISK fee. so figure that out, and add that to what you think the pirates are paying for acquiring the tags.

And how often can you gank before you have to pay it again? How much does a gank ship cost for the several types of ganks and how many pilots are needed?

Finally all the abovel vs. How much do they earn in average and what does actually drop and can be acquired before someone else takes it?

I can always step in and claim that ganking is too easy and no efford and has astronomical wins. Give numbers of the real complete and real picture and maybe you will learn something.

It is the same as claiming ganking is out of hand and that you can’t get any freight through on the main pipelines which also is just not true.

So i was doing some research, looks like this mechanic of buying tags was introduced in 2013 as a way of CONCORD “rewarding” those who were battling clones from DUST514

but to buy all the tags needed to get to “0” in Jita according to janice

and this is not including the cost to turn the tags in, so it can easily get quite expensive overall to fix your standings.

I already factored the isk into the prices. Apologies for being unclear on that.

The vast majority of that price is in the -5 to -2, and the -2 to 0 jumps. Mostly because of the consumption via Jita undock campers I imagine.

how much are the fees?

Modification%=−2.5%×System security×1+[(Target’s security−Aggressor’s security)/100]

We can keep it simple and calculate each player at 0. So if you shoot someone in a 1.0 system it’s a 2.5% standing loss, based off a 10 point system. So shooting someone else’s ship while at 0 would bring you to -0.25. Meaning a Jita undock camper could kill eight to nine haulers before needing to reset. (Standing loss decreases along with standing, so kill number eight would only penalize something like -0.23)

From -2 to 0 is about 188 million. (164 mil for the tags, and 24 mil CONCORD fee.)

188 million divided by eight kills means the ganker only needs to profit 23.5 mill per kill to pay for their reset. Assuming they’re doing Jita Tornado undock camping, we’ll price their ship at about 100m isk. Together, that means the ganker needs only profit 123.5m per kill in order to pay for their activity.

This being the most expensive form of suicide ganking.

Other forms of ganking are significantly less expensive due to the super low cost of going from -10 to -5, and the fact that they are often done via blobs of much cheaper Catalysts.
