Why is it so easy to recover bad security status. Endless suicide ganking in high sec with 0 penalty

Tags for Sec Fee and number of tags needed are listed here.

i don’t think that is correct..

as you can see from mine above from Janice, for all 20 tags, is well almost 400m.

where as your link, which is same one i found, shows only 90 mil.

for the 10 tags needed to go to -5 is 17.8mil Jita buy

I assumed the amount listed in the site I found was just the CONCORD fee part. Which site did you find?

I’m using Janice to get actual market pricing for the tags.

Approximate Total Costs

As of early 2026, the estimated cost to reset a status from -10.0 to 0.0 is approximately 400M to 600M ISK.

Trainer -10.0 to -8.0 ~3,000,000 ISK
Recruiter -8.0 to -5.0 ~4,000,000 ISK
Transporter -5.0 to -2.0 ~5,000,000 ISK
Negotiator -2.0 to 0.0 ~6,000,000 ISK

That is per tag.. so

Trainer - 12 Mil
recruiter - 24 mil
Transporter - 30 mil
Negotiator - 24 Mil
total for all fees: 90 mil for all 20 tags.
plus 377 mil to buy all 20 tags.. over 400+ mil.

it should be reworded so it doesn’t say :Cost including Concord Fee” It should just say “concord fee” on the fuzzworks link.

but it still roughly translates to 65-70 mil just to drop to -4.5
gankers are most likely paying for up to -2 or even zero, so they can gank all over again.. -5 won’t allow them to do much of anything.

I think it’s supposed to calculate it with tag fees included, because that’s what I remember, but something broke.

Regardless, low security is only a problem if you intend to spend time in space or re-dock. Neither of which are a factor if the suicide gankers undock in Catalysts, warp to their target, and alpha blaps them before then dying to CONCORD.

Can you link your lossmail?

I think it’s extremely funny that you point to security tags and how repairing your security status is the problem in ganking that needs to be solved.

Know why I think it’s funny? It’s because I have spent my entire career as a ganker doing so with an unrepaired -10 security status. I found ways to work around all the restrictions and problems that come with it. I still strike at various targets and succeed.

You can try all you want, but you can’t patch out my ability to learn and adapt. This might be hard for you to accept, but maybe those guys AND GIRLS that are picking off all your ships are really good at what they do, and you are not.

So my advice is: Get good!

That is the original point that I made, yes. I said that resets are both too cheap, and that it’s too easy to bypass the punishments even while living in highsec.

1v6’ed by multiboxer whos only form of “PvP” is high sec suicide ganks. They aren’t linked to zKill, so it’s an incomplete picture of how many people they actually kill.

You need to get good.

It’s too easy, huh? I knew exactly that you were going to say that.

Here is the thing with you, and people that complain like you: It’s never enough! Even if I had to tapdance, fill out a ganking form for every character when I undock while also balancing a hoola-hoop ring, you will always find something to complain about, something that is “not adjusted right” and therefore making things for us “too easy”.

Because the root issue of all your complaints is, that you don’t want to accept that ganking takes skill. You got caught in a gank, now you hate gankers and therefore your ego is coming up with all sorts of hilarious reasons why ganking doesn’t take skill and why it has to be made harder.

None of these suggestions are about levelling the playing field, because I can tell you, gankers are getting a pretty raw deal right now. What you want is making it physically impossible for me to gank anyone, and then blame it on lack of skill, or lack of trying. Sorry that I can see right through your charade! I would appreciate it if you don’t try to ruin this game for me and everyone else who enjoys ganking, just because you are bad at it.

Ah yes. I hope to one day be as good as the person who needs six accounts to kill a target that can’t shoot back until it’s too late. A target the ganker get infinite tries against until they get the perfect win condition. Such awe inspiring skill.

Ah yes. The immense skill of spinning up five more characters to brute force their way past CONCORD response times. What would the game be without such displays of elite PvP to save us from our dull lives?

Why can’t your Kronos shoot back?

Do you need gunnery training?

Security status is a single attribute contributing to the problem where an activity lacks consequence.

If true, that only adds weight to the argument “Outlaw” status as described in Security status - EVE University Wiki is lacking.

Its not about adapting. Punitive mechanics that do not apply equally (smart/dumb/rich/poor) are not good mechanics. Security tags are an excellent example of this, if one is rich and can buy up security tags, security status is simply a function of ISK.

There might have been a point at which this was true, now there are too many “non human pilots” hanging out in chokepoints like udema with [1..99] just sitting there running a eve appraisal script off their f1 frigate cargo scanners.

Its no longer about skill, it is all too formulaic, For all the smoke and mirros the process is not much more than to, divide the ehp of a ship by the volley damage of a talos/catalyst and and figure out if the loot value * drop rate is more or less than the value of the # of gank ships required to hit that EHP before CONCORD arrive.

No, because by the time they become legal targets that Concord won’t kill me for shooting? It’s already too late. That’s literally they whole entire point I’ve been making. Clone tags completely negate the Outlaw mechanic. Which is what’s supposed to allow people to defend themselves against this kind of bullshittery.

Maybe you should buy some tags, so you can shoot back?

That doesn’t even make any sense. Shooting back before they dumped their alpha would still result in me dying from CONCORD, and by the time they dump their alpha? It’s already too late to start killing them as they orbit me at zero. Not that a stationary battleship will last very long against massed rage torpedos.

So maybe they should remove the tags since dust514 is obsolete??

But but but, what about all the people who want to have their cake and eat it too? What would those poor, starving, gankers do if they couldn’t have both alllll of the combat advantages of getting the first strike against their target of choice, and also completely ignore the half assed punishment system that’s supposed to deter such actions?
