Why is stealing a mission item only a suspect level offense?

There’s nothing to “fix,” though tbh

I’m certain they’re throwing around ideas to solve it as I write this.

They are not allowed to. They’re all muzzled. It’s enforced better than a judicial gag order.

There’s nothing to “fix,” though tbh

Agree to disagree on that.

It’s toxic for new players and annoying for veterans. Where other than missions are you all but forced to constantly scan for invaders while in high sec?

Abyssal exit, incursion, mining, any activity you are in hisec really. Thats the challenge

You most certainly don’t need to scan for attackers while mining in high sec. You just make sure your mining rig isn’t worth being suicide ganked.

The other two I’m not familiar with, so I’m going based on what I can read. Incursions… why would you need to scan for invaders, if again Concord kills attackers?

Abyssal deadspace… doesn’t even allow invaders in the first place if I’m reading this right?

Do you even play the game.

It’s not a question because anyone who does has pretty clear answers to your very naive questions.

It doesn’t. The Prophet gets why your weakness compels you to attempt to sway the false gods to save you.

The Prophet understands. The Prophet, however, does not respect you in the slightest.

You are so weak and so afraid, you cannot even bring yourself to load a shell of antimatter in defense. You cannot even bring yourself to practice your social skills enough to make friends to help guard you in these situations.

Instead, you come back to a galaxy in which you have not actively participated in for a long while, whilst begging the pantheon to redeem your weakness.

That shame sir, is something that is far worse than missing an item to satisfy the whims of a corporate shill.

More mission items than the stars could be stolen, and it would still not outweigh the shame you carry.

Everywhere, if you want to live.

And that is why you are a professional victim, whose only marketable job skill on a resume is how to die screaming in space.

Again, you provide us more examples of your ignorance.

lets finish this Bullsheet at this point …

his last post was about the same and what comes out ? he was in lowsec, could run and someone ransomed this item for 30 million ISK !

He “reopened” his last thread in this new thread

This, is too good.

He rolled a mission in low, got probed, his mission item was stolen, then held ransom, and all this happened 3 years ago!

My hat is off to the dirty rotten pirate that did this.

3 years of salt mining!

Oh wait.
Bad Thorne. Bad!

But what about the noooooobs!?!?!1!!!
We have to protect the noobs!!!
And player retention!
And and and, it’s a broken game mechanic that has to be fixed!
And don’t forget, it’s such a rare thing that no one will notice if it’s removed from the game, but common enough that it severely effects the noobs and makes people quit!

This basically gives the thread‘s „Anti PvP Bingo card“ a three way bingo.

OP, holding a grudge for 4 years over a video game isn’t healthy. Let it go.

Overall I’m very impressed with this thread. 8/10. An OP complaining about a mechanic he hasn’t experienced in years while openly admitting he doesn’t know if it even still happens, while also not knowing anything even the existence of multiple other hi sec mechanics or the existence of specific channels dedicated to helping new players is a strong start. Closing by realizing that the actual event happened in low sec where the mechanic he is currently advocating wouldn’t even apply adds a beautiful finish. Now if we could just get a @Aiko_Danuja ”Calm down miner” I think we could call this a 9/10 and move onto the next. Nice work everyone.

Maybe a “Calm down lowsec mission runner” would be more fitting. :upside_down_face:

You’re just screwed. I had a COSMOS mission bug. I logged out and logged back in the next day and the mission chain was just gone. Support basically told me to kick rocks. It’s old code or some lame excuse and they can’t do anything. Didn’t give me the standing I should have gotten, reimburse me for the tags I wasted or anything. I just had the last mission to do too. Very frustrating.

OP you’re right, we need to answer the question directly.

It isn’t considered a criminal offense because Florida never made it through the EVE gate so you cant just gun someone down for stealing a bag of chips.

Well technically yes it’s more appropriate, but I just like the classic flavor of the original you know? I guess I’m just old-fashioned.

I just want to mention GMs do this because missions sometimes get bugged, people lose loot, shoot their own cans, and a lot of other silly stuff. If missions were actually updated and gutted (to be fixed) GMs would not need to intervene.

You have my respect from a debater to debater. Considering 99% of people don’t put this much effort into what they believe in.

Please if you have any more topics, I look forward to more discussion via in game mails. I have my stances on gankers, carebears, ISK making, min/maxers, and so much more. You probably have a rough idea on my thinking from this thread anyways.

What should be, and what is, are two very different things.

One is based in reality, the other is… well a fantasy world of your design.

Really? I was?

Can you find a quote of me saying that?

I actually posted on the forums back then? Oh that is hilarious. I couldn’t actually remember if I got attacked in high sec or low sec, but it looks like I was misremembering some key details of my experience :joy:

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I really have no leg to stand on if my entire basis for this happening was actually in low sec. It doesn’t actually change the argument, but clearly the real issue is that the game doesn’t (didn’t) train you very well to worry about getting invaded in deadspace missions. Based on all available information, I think I was most upset about the principle of the whole thing at the time…

Hey Vuhdo, since you seem to like digging, maybe you can also figure out the name of the player who stole it?

Huh? Why? Oh, no reason in particular…

BTW, in-game revenge is something a lot of folks here (like me) will cheer you on for. It is embracing the universe which is what makes the game great. You meet the universe and try to exert your will upon it. Hope you go down this path. Makes for great stories

Earlier you were using that motivation to try to change the rules – which is why there’s resistance – as it is the opposite: not engaging with the sandbox, and demanding it (and everyone else inside the universe) meet you instead…
