I can’t really speak to their motives. I only know what I gained.
Have fun losing it all when bitcoin crashes. When, not if.
No they aren’t. They’re the result of a bubble driven by cult-like belief that bitcoin will be worth lots of money so you should buy it to make the price go up. Bitcoin still has zero practical value outside of buying illegal drugs on the internet, so its price increases can’t be driven by genuine demand to use bitcoin.
Bitcoin was always that you required one or many trusted middleman for the system to work.
Bitcoin also requires this. Or are you going to ignore the fact that very, very few sellers accept bitcoin payments directly? You still have to trust someone to make the currency conversions, and at least with normal currency there are legal guarantees protecting the user.
People made a ton of money off of Bernie Madoff’s system. It lasted for many, many years. Lots of smart guys insisted it was legit.
“Bitcoin was always that you required one or many trusted middleman for the system to work.”
Wrong, it is 1. trustless, 2. permissonless and 3. to be used p2p without the need for intermedaries
Re-read the whitepaper
You’re an insider. You claim to have bought bitcoins for a few cents each back at the beginning. Or are you going to admit that this was another of your lies?
Only as long as mining continues to be profitable, which is a ticking clock. Once mining ceases to be profitable bitcoin can not compete with conventional payment systems because of its inherent inefficiency and direct P2P transactions are no longer practical.
(Technically you could still pay 100 times the Paypal fees to pay with bitcoin when buying illegal drugs on the internet, but no legitimate business is going to deal with bitcoin when transaction fees are that high.)
Fees go up, rewards are already dropping, nobody is fleeing, sidechains if you want alternative payment fees, run your own miners and full nodes, also wait longer
also it’s easier for me to buy drugs with fiat currency, in fact they won’t touch crypto
Only because nobody is using bitcoin in the first place. I can’t think of a single thing I spend money on that accepts bitcoin payments.
also wait longer
So now I have to give up the convenience of instant payment and wait some indefinite amount of time for the transaction to go through? Why am I using this obviously inferior product?
SIt it out then, it’s not for you, toodles.
And once again when confronted with criticism you fall back on this idiotic claim that only bitcoin fanboys are allowed to discuss bitcoin. No wonder you think bitcoin is great, you’ve built yourself an echo chamber where that is the only opinion allowed!
Not at all, I won’t be seeing you on the blockchain, I have nothing to worry about from you, you’re welcome to sit on the side benches yapping
It is a universal human trait that people attribute their own good luck to skill, intelligence, or virtue, while their bad luck is blamed on somebody else.
Best get those fact checkers onto me to deplatform me.
Tell me again how all those green energy wind mills are working well in that ice and snow in Texas?
Scroll up, actually regarding “relevence” this thread WAS about ACCEPTING crypto as PAYMENT, specifically Dogecoin.
This thread should be closed long ago as it is way off topic into the economy and technology and way out of the intended topic, then we get into Bitcoin and price and flapping our penises about bragging how much we made.

The Tesla dealership in Bogotá?
Please do not cut statements out of context to build straw man arguments. I very clearly made that comment in the context of a fee-based bitcoin once mining ceases to be profitable, so discussing a current business accepting bitcoin has nothing to do with what I said.
“Please do not cut statements out of context to build straw man arguments”
Democrats and the left do it all the time, it’s OK when THEY do it?
A nonsensical straw man argument that has nothing to do with the topic of discussion. I am completely shocked that a bitcoin fanboy would sink to this level of dishonesty…
