Will we ever see a new wiped server?

EVE Echoes (trailer) is the trial run for this idea. If the weak applause at EVE Vegas is any indication, at least 10 people are looking forward to a new server they can play in, on their phones.

To be frank newer players can’t compete with those that have years on them, you can join a power block and grow there but ultimately the power blocks are here to stay, they have the isk that matters, they have the ships and pilots, the best mods, etc.
To look at them and want to be them…why?
Being a “CEO”, FC, or some other high person in an organization looking like that makes eve a job so hopefully they are getting RL money from it because I play for my own enjoyment because I have a RL job and definitely don’t want another.

Let these people have their cakes, I just want to do my activity.

I agree that it won’t happen, but to be fair now there is already a split in the playerbase.

Those who still play and those who don’t :stuck_out_tongue:

So you basicly are whinging about a group of people that doesn´t exist anymore, because they exploited the ■■■■ out of a part of a game for resources that probably don´t exist anymore too, because no asset safety/inactivity. So you want the whole comunity to suffer for that. YEEEARRRS later. Yeah. Sounds reasonable.
I didn´t play that time. And even if, I don´t do moonmining. Because I find mining boring as hell. For an instance.
Also there are items in some hangars, that are irreplaceble. Literally. What would you tell them? Bad luck? Yeah. I know the answer…
CCP would just murder the game. And knowing some groups in game their HQ in iceland too. Probably.
If you are so keen for that nonsence, play EVE Echoes. If that does go the same way, at least you will know wich fault it is that you are where you are. Or maybe not. Who cares, rly?

The time BOB was around was the best time for this game…
There was actually an alliance providing content and was good enough, just not blobby enough (like goons) to create meaningfull content for the entire 0,0 base of this game.

But noooo, lets do what you say cause you somehow feel entitled to say screw you to what all others have accomplished in this game, just because you have aspired into being a nothing.

Here, you can have a free tissue on your way out.

Thank you for the insightful comment and free bashing, you bring a lot to this community. Your arguments were solid, keep it up. A separate server removes nothing from TQ and the ‘‘accomplishments’’ you speak about.

It also adds nothing, hence its a useless thing.

Finally the beginning of what could be called an argument.

It add a lot, see previous posts.

Right, ill be serious then.
I would much rather they sat down, had a look at walking in stations etc, and started working on EVE 2, rather then spending money on an idea such as yours.

Spaceships combined with walking in stations and the added features that would bring, would have made this game a must have for all the people who are endlessly waiting for star citizen.
It would also have given them a chance to learn from previous mistakes (of which there has been many).

I heard said parties actually only received a small, 1 million isk loan from their fathers (which they had to pay back with interest)

Thanks Armyofme, it’s much more productive that way

I am pretty convinced they gave up on walking in stations. The preview we had with captain’s quarters was decent, and they could have used Dust 514 textures (I assume). If it were to be happening, we’d have it by now.

I agree with the money being focused on one place is better, but everything they tried failed (VR, Dust, the other FPS, etc). After 15 years of development, adding a new server would be interesting, as the game would develop in a wildly different way than it did in 2003!

It would go the same way. Only on a second server with probaly half the playerbase in the best outcome.

First of, sorry for being an ass in my first reply. No sleep for 36 hours tends to do that to me, but I still shouldnt have released that frustration out on you.

Secondly, your right, every thing they have attempted other then eve has failed, but I strongly belive a new server would do nothing but throw more money out the window.
EVE mk2 however with a walking in station and that sort of added gameplay would bring in other groups then just the ones out looking for a spaceship game.
That way they could attract the whole specter of sci-fi mmo fans out there, and thats not a small number.

Yesterday before sleep I watched a lot of star citizen and there were so many bugs it was funny. But other than that, and some curious animation of maximum running speed, it was something very nice, starts looking good. But those bugs, I really wish they would make them go away at some point. When you see elevator suddenly vanishing underneath you, you know its broken. :joy:

No. …

No harm done Army

Walking in stations would make me play space poker all day -_-

The price has been the main argument and a very valid one. I wonder how much it costs to host EVE all in all?
