Now that most of the world is implementing, Adult verification. i Think eve should grow and encompass, adult themes Like Bars, Dancers, Gambling, Fights, Assassination Contracts, And all the myriad of thing that exist for Adults, It would flesh out the world, And attract new players. that dont want to shoot each other. If players are underage, Then just restrict them from this type of game play.
CCP always breaks under pressure from the Pew Pew Brigade, and never implements this stuff. Thats why eve has not grown in 20 years. Get ready for the Hate . lol and those that hate this is why eve does not grow.
If you include sexually explicit content in the game, for example, then the game would have to verify the age of their players somehow. And as of today, NONE of the age verification systems various sites use are good. They can easily be bypassed by minors, and are a major annoyance for those more concerned for their privacy.
I donât want to see any of these age verification systems in this game. I would stop playing. I am not giving out my biometric data to any third party on the internet, nor am I gonna send pictures of my ID to CCP. This game is not that important to me. This would make them lose clients, I donât know how much %-wise, but I would think the loss would be greater than the new players they would gain, who would come to the game solely because of this adult content. Thus it is an absolutely unnecessary addition for EVE universe. You wanna get laid or watch a naked person, go and do it in real life. Thatâs way more healthy than doing it in a virtual fake setting.
We already have exotic dancers, gambling (hypernet), fights (most of the game), and youâre free to hire anyone for whatever illicit activity you desire in game, more or less.
This is why CCP are scared to expand the game because, People like you, Its a space game , anything of a sexual nature should be behind closed doors as in real life.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with âsexual in natureâ things in EVE. The game has some such content â exotic dancers, for one. People have naked female figures and penises in their bios. No problem at all. Iâm not aware of a single case where CCP has banned those things. I recently posted a gay love story on the forums here (which is kind of part of EVE universe). Thatâs all good and only a true puritan would have issues with things like that.
But you were arguing for content that requires age verification. Why is this needed in EVE? Or a better question yet â are the problems an age verification system poses for the game really worth the benefits it incurs? From where I am standing a number of people would stop playing the game. Sure, it wonât be 100%, maybe not even 25%. But how many players are you going to gain for your EVE Online adult content alone? Those are the numbers CCP has to stare face to face if they considered something like what you suggest.
And yes, the base nature of this game is space exploration. Of course you still have players who at the end of the day are human beings, who have physical and emotional needs/impulses. But is that something this game can satisfy? Should it try? I donât see you making a case for your ideas explaining all these aspects and how it ends up interacting with other content in EVE. Itâs easy to just come up with an idea âwe should start doing x, y, zâ. But it has to fit into this universe and complement it.
At the end of the day, EVE is space exploration first, ship paints and everything else second or third.
Why not? People donât seem to have an issue with kids stuff having love stories, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, Frozen, Little Mermaid, Princess and the Frog, Shrek, etc. Aside the point, players are assumed to be of age 13 or older.
